Happy fathers days...

My little son has football practice this afternoon.
The guy that runs the class is a Geordie, and a Newcastle Utd fan …. after he’s taken the register, he then refers to each kid depending what football kit they are wearing.

A good 70/80% are there wearing premier league teams colours, with a handful of Carlisle Utd kits ( which is understandable as that’s where we are from )
But he generally singles out my Aidan who wears his Pool kit with pride.

They always start by playing bulldogs as a warm up activity, and it’s a given that his tutor will shout “ Anyone wearing a …………….Blackpool top….GO!!! ”
Love his little face , when he’s faced with a long line of catchers and he makes it passed them all.

Kids got me a big bar of 'Toberone ' chocolate and a ' Grumpy Git ' Mug ;). I'm taking them to the cinema to watch Peter rabbit 2 ! As there's not much decent on 🍿🍫🧋 and then I will come home and have a few beers 🍻🍺
My daughter, who has the worlds shortest attention span when it comes to films went to the cinema to watch the Peter Rabbit film with my sister in law and her family.
Reports came back she was as good as gold, watched the full film , and I got a full review of it when she got back.

Thank you

Working 😟

Serving all those families who forgot to buy Dad something and are pretending they wanted to get him something he liked 😉

It was the missus 60th birthday lasr wednesday and we've had a fantastic week doing lots of walks around Garstang, Carnforth and Knott End and going out for meals.. Today she thinks she's just going up to my lads just for my Fathers day unaware that it's gonna be a surprise birthday party for her with all the Family there ready to greet her. That's 29 of us so just about conforming to the restriction of 30 for outdoor do's.
Shame is that we have to restrict it to 30 as there's so many friends who I would have loved to have been there too.
At least the weather is decent. The forecast for today was terrible for the last couple of weeks.

The weather is overcast and cool, so a quiet day indoors with a beer today.
I have aready done my tax return this morning, booked for the RHS Flower Show at Tatton Park, booked a hotel for a Genesis concert and travel arrangements for the Old Trafford test.
As a father of 4, I was reflecting this morning on the family news we have had in the last 3 weeks. My eldest son and his girlfriend got engaged, my second oldest son and his girlfriend announced they are expecting a baby on Christmas Eve and my daughter got got engaged.
It could be a busy and expensive couple of years ahead! 😀

Hope she doesn't read this site or that would be end of the suprise. 😂

Off to my daughters for 3pm, 2 sons and 5 grandchildren will be there. A few drinks and buffet followed at 5pm by the Wales v Italy game. Daughters partner has built a cracking bar outside with a 50 inch tv on the wall, so looking forward to a great day with the whole family 👍👍👍

Edit to add: It’s Fr Bayerns birthday today too!

Daughter & son-in-law took us out yesterday for a meal.
Sundays for them is reserved for my 1st wife and, unfortunately they say she's 'losing it' so Sunday is sacrosanct for her.
This a.m. 2nd G/son brought his 18 month old round to see us. Fortunately the 2 G/sons treat MrsDP as their Grandma as they were both toddlers when we got married.

Having a Zoom at 7pm with my three wonderful daughters who are all now working or studying away from here. A whole pile of mysterious cardboard boxes has been arriving this week. I feel very lucky :)

Chilled day sat in the sun, in the garden.
12 cans of craft brew from my kids and a bottle of Intense cafe by Montale from the dogs................God, I love those dogs.....

Now watching "How the west was won" for the 32nd time........

Woken at 8-ish by a hungry cat scratching at the bedroom door. Picked up said cat and put her on the bed next to Mrs C. "Can I have a kiss" asked Mrs C, only to be clawed in the face 😂

Sausage and bacon buttie on tiger bread from Mrs C, followed by millionaire shortbread that the cat had bought her daddy.

My eldest two arrived for hugs and kisses, along with a card, box of cupcakes and Tour de France magazine.

Visited my Ma and Pa and had a brew and more hugs and kisses. Dad was grateful for his Gigli's hamper.

Currently watching the US golf prior to the Wales game. Decent bottle of wine on the go.

Shame I haven't heard from my youngest. I haven't seen her or spoken to her for two years, but we do communicate online occasionally.

Today has been as good as it could be 👍

Thank you, Lala ;)

I had a lie in this morning - was offered breakfast, but declined as coffee is enough for me.

Spent ages with text messages from my two daughters - one 200 miles away, the other 2500 miles away. I've banned Skype messages in the mornings as it would be too scary for them.

Mrs Grumps made me a chicken curry for lunch and we drunk a bottle of Pinot Grigio with that. Since then I've strolled around the garden, but mostly been watching the India-NZ test match.

Will switch to Italy-Wales shortly and crack open some beers.

Here's a Dad Joke:

I once hired a limo but when it arrived, the guy driving it walked off!
I said "Excuse me? Are you not going to drive me?"
The guy told me that the price didn't include a driver…
… so I'd spent £400 on a limo and have nothing to chauffeur it!

And Lou Reed's 'Perfect Day' 😃

Daughter working today so didn’t get to see her or my threenage granddaughter! but saw them yesterday and was gifted a box of Sol lager, and a lovely bottle of quality Rioja. Had a nice walk along St. Annes front then relaxed in the garden like a couple of old gits! Hope you had a nice Sunday also Lala Cheers.

Had to work, but took time off to watch the match and have a takeaway bought by my kids.
Daughter got me a pair of BFC Haydock (?) shorts, and son bought us tickets for an Interrupters/Dropkick Murphys gig in Feb!
