Hardies gone on loan

I think that is a mistake by us to sell him on loan to Plymouth as I would like to see him be given a chance, what do you guys think? Have we made a mistake or is it the right choice?

Loan means can’t play against us ether
just hope it dosnt come back and bite us during the season
wonder if a recall has been added

In Critchley we trust hopefully Nuttall will bang them in the back of the net as we cant just rely on Yates scoring

He wasn't in NCs plans. Our fans are basing their views purely on a few YouTube clips. He rarely started for Plymouth but did get an impressive goals return. I'm 100% sure NC will have spent a lot of time reviewing his performances and if he would fit with his system. Add that to seeing him train for the last few days and if the player isn't happy/wants to go, I think it is the right decision.

Just been reading the Argyle forum, they are absolutely delighted. Not one negative comment, pity we couldn’t find out how he fitted in. We will just have to trust Critchley’s judgement.

Not really sure how any of us could really form an opinion on Hardie’s abilities. Let’s be honest most of us will have barely seen the lad play for more than the odd 10 minutes. I thought he looked sharp when he came on at Rochdale but its not like he is the proven league 1 goal scorer we need.

It might be an error to let him go, it might not. Who knows.

I think there’s a bit of disappointment with this one because we all saw him hit the ground running with Argyle last season and expected him to come back here a better and more confident player. Now he’s gone for another year I do feel a bit underwhelmed but few of us know the exact terms of the deal. Could be a recall clause involved or they could be paying a big chunk of his salary which Critchley pointed out as a concern earlier this week. Like many I would’ve liked to have seen him given another chance, he was living off scraps under Grayson with efl cup appearances and coming off the bench and I don’t think that’s a fair reflection of what he can do at this level. I guess we’ll find out a lot more about him this season now. Good luck to the lad

It's only a loan, calm down every one - you have to trust Critchley's judgement
Scenario 1 : he does very well at PAFC and gains valuable experience, we recall him at the end of the season and he goes on to bang them in for the mighty during the rest of his contract.
Scenario 2: he does well at PAFC and being in the shop window as he is playing every week he attracts interest and we go on to sell him at a profit.
Scenario 3 : he's not as good as we thought and he drifts out of contention at PA. Critchley's judgement vindicated and we don't have to pay all of his wages for a full season

All three scenarios are positives for BFC. Critchley is trying to build something here and has Hardies position covered, give the guy a break.

He wasn't very good in any full game i saw him in a Pool shirt. All the LDV or whatever it's called now and Accrington away, in fact not very good probably isn't strong enough.
Scored a few at Plymouth, but wasn't a regular starter for them either.
Glad to be proved wrong, but not bothered one bit based on his performances for us and not what he did for Plymouth.

Absolutely agree BH. Plymouth clearly played to his strengths, which we didn't under the previous manager - who clearly wanted to play his extravagant lump of a signing instead, just to try and prove a point. I'd have liked to see what he can do under a coach who seems to want to play a more entertaining game. Bad move for us.

Played to his strengths ?
He didn't even start the majority of his games for Plymouth and he was worse than useless for us. Nothing in anything i witnessed makes me think he'll be missed.
People frothing at the mouth because a bad signing for us, scored a few on loan and yet can't wait to see the back of our top scorer.
We really are a strange lot at Blackpool

I didn't say I wanted to see the back of Gnands - I don't. Nuttall yes, Madine yes, but not Gnands.

I’m fairly sure it was the player who wanted to keep going and be the main man down there whilst keeping his wage deal intact. I would.

Im equally sure Critch wasn’t going to say to him he was playingand starting for us as a key 1st teamplayer.

I can’t see it being a mistake to be honest. And he is still ours.

This is spot on.

Hardie is no loss at all.

So after being given miserly opportunities here Hardie goes to subsequently promoted Plymouth and scores 7 goals in 13 appearances many of which I saw on TV and were excellent finishes and he clearly has made a very good impression on many there too, also bearing in mind he was only a second half sub. in many of those games. Whilst Yates, who we have paid good money for, scored 14 in 31 for league 2 Swindon with far more time on the pitch in the games he appeared in and scored 2 in 47 at a higher level for Rotherham.

Many pin their hopes on Critchley`s judgment which they currently have great faith in.Let`s hope they are right because so far we have very little on which to base our trust in him but on the face of it it seems a strange decision bearing in mind that effective goalscorers are the most valuable assets of all in a football team.Especially concerning after having seen our leading scorer, head and shoulders ahead of the rest, depart in the close season as well.

I guess the reasoning is this:
1) Doesn’t fit in with current managers plans.
2) Need to raise wage funds to afford players in other positions.
3) We believe his market value will increase, and therefore it doesn’t make sense to sell him yet.

Glad he’s only been loaned rather than sold, but I think there’s a good chance that this will seem a stupid decision within a few months.

Well Gary Sunbed is our target man - if we play 2 up top then Yates is first choice. Hardie would be fighting for a cameo with Joelinho, Fonz and one of our attacking midfielders.
If we play 3 up top then he would be played out of position and up against KK, Sar, Anderson, Hamilton (I am bored of typing all the AM we have now....) and the rest of them!

So do I TBF and referring back to EBSN`s scenarios, for some reason both he he has missed the most obvious scenario of all

Scenario 4) After doing so well at PAFC last season we and more importantly Critchley give him, as one of our squad members,a decent run in the team from the start to see if he can do for us what he did when given a decent chance at Plymouth. It can`t happen now more`s the pity.

Scenario 5 : Hardie loves it down there and wants to keep playing and being in and around the squad. Critch says no, get back here and show us what you can do. Hardie flops and ends up costing us money sitting in the reserves with the odd 10nins late on here and there and his value plummets. He leaves on a free, to Plymouth and the player ends up with lowered wages for his next contract.

the percentages would be in favour him keeping going at Plymouth and it’s a win win situation for everyone.

I’ve been reading Plymouth’s Twitter after the announcement and even though I’m gutted he has gone it’s great to see how much love he has down there. The fans are all genuinely excited he is there. I’m hoping this was the right call by Critchley. Good luck to lad

Shame really sorry we couldn't give him a chance until January ,but as said he may have wanted the move (in every walk in life things always make you perform better if you feel wanted ) good luck to the lad I say👍.

Sorry but I think this is a mistake, we paid good money for him, OK if he doesn’t fit in with our new manger then sell him and take a loss but don’t give him away for the season. When he comes back he won’t have long left so his selling value goes down. Any loan should have been till the next transfer window and no longer, at that point we could have reviewed the situation worse case scenario there will always have been a club willing to take him on loan😡

He's a player who wasn't signed by the manager, who can't have figured in said managers plans, so has gone on loan to somewhere that wants him.
If he's a success his value increases and we cash in.
If he isn't a success, the likelihood is Plymouth have footed the bill for his wages for the season.
He never performed for us, and wasn't likely to if NC didn't play him.

I'm struggling to see the negative side of all this from our perspective.
