Heading Football problems

With all the now proven facts heading the ball causing Alzheimers and Dementia, what do the Football Authorities do?
Will they think about headed protection, i.e. Some sort of helmet with inner material to cushion the impact? Might sound daft but, who knows?
Thoughts?
 
Is the damage more extreme due to the heavy wet leather balls back in the black and white days? Todays footballs are much lighter but I defo agree that something needs to be done for the junior footballer. Dont we want to encourage the young ones to have the ball at their feet anyway?
