Hi all just dropped in to see what you think about the game on saturday, We have 14 players out so i would take a draw now, I know it will be a tough game as i see you held wba last night, Its going to be cold so wrap up well.if your coming by coach it drops you in your seat ,By car you can find a few places in the side streets,By train its only a 20 min walk to the ground. i have seen people say get another train from moor st but why for such a short walk.Pubs around the ground are small and normally full of blues supporters so best to drink in the city centre . There is a Mc Donalds 5 mins from the ground and a morrisons which sells hot food just behind bnm bargins on the coventry road 10 mins from the ground. If you did want to make a weekend out of it there is a travel inn just behind Mc Donalds. Good luck and safe trip.Bill

Cheers Bill, I see another player likely to be suspended also last night, in what was a decent point for your team. We should have Maxwell and Keogh back to our squad so are getting close to full strength again after a bad few weeks with injuries. I fancy us strongly although think it will be a very tight game. All the best!

Good information that Bill and thanks for posting it. Just goes to show something I have always known, most football fans from most clubs are genuine football fans and good people at heart. Once again thank you for your info and good luck for the rest of the season. After Saturday of course. 🤣 🍊🍊🍊

Speedo Trunks weather for the Scots.

Shorts & T Shirts for the Geordies

So we’ll probably need to have a jumper on hand

BASIL lot better dig out their thermals and duck down jumpsuits 😂

Can't make this one Bill but Brum is up there in the Champions League places for teams with good pubs. In our Prem year me and mates went in a good selection, culminating in the Wellington. It's a beer festival all if its own!

That was true a few years back but not lots of pubs are closed in Brum ,The city centre will have lots but more for eating, The inner city pubs are slowly dying off 😔

I agree about MOST fans....that's why I'm not a great fan of 'your support is fxxxxng shit'.
Thanks for posting Bill.

Yes we had woods sent off last night but i think the club will try to get it overturned ,I sort of dont feel sorry for us because we should have enough players to cover and they should try hard to keep their place. I think it will be close, our defence can be great but we cant buy a goal.

Your welcome,I agree i now its banter but its like a new thing on facebook some football sites post every teams away support then millions sit at home slagging them off .Anyone who makes the effort to travel is the lifeblood of the club and should be applauded

Thanks Bill, great info, much appreciated.

Will be my 3rd visit to St Andrews, both previously FA Cup games, in 84 the Quarter-Final v Watford and in 86 with my local non-league team Altrincham. Hoping for a 3rd win, but will be a tight match.

Has the club managed to make progress on the ground, or still down on capacity?

Cheers for the info Bill.

Sorry but cant seem to get too friendly with a Blue nose seeing my late father was born 200 yards from Witton lane.
Had many happy times on the Holte End not so many at St. Andrews😉

However, one of my godfathers is a blue nose( yeh how did that happen!!😁)
And at his 40th wedding anniversary party there was an impromptu singing of KRO at the end of the night.
Just me and my Dad not singing 😁

In all seriousness, all the best for the rest of the season, just not this Saturday 👍🏻

your welcome. Yes i was at them games,Watford was a fantastic Atmosphere but John Barnes tore us to bits , Altrincham if i remember was a night game and our local lad Robert hopkins scored for us then he scored a og which put us out, I also was there for the 2-2 draw but as you had won the first leg 1-0 we lost , Please stay at home on saturday 😁😁 No they are still working on the ground,The main stand and railway end are ok but the Kop and Tilton are only open at the top sections, I hope soon they will finish and we can get good growds again.

Yes Alty was a night game, and it was an og.

Hope they sort the ground soon, thanks again.

Its not a short walk and there is a local train service from Moor Street and Snow Hill to the ground-Bordesley. If we go we'll be parking at the park and ride at West Brom and catching the train in.

If they were playing the Geordies, no one would even have a shirt on (ladies excluded) - no matter what the weather!

From New St 20 min walk at most ,i guess it depends on age a little less for youngsters or a tad longer if older. It might take 10 mins to walk from New st to Moor st then you have to pay for a ticket then you have to wait for the train so walking deffinalty better.

Unfortunately Billy not able to attend due to an operation this Friday 😡

Been to Villa park many times since but last time I was stood on the Holte was watching Dennis Mortimer raise the 1st division champions trophy 😉

Going by train so thanks for the info Billy ,plan tofind a Wetherspoons for a few pints and a bit of nosh then hopefully find a bus to the ground , but if only 20minutes walk wont be too bad as I am a young 74 year old .

Coach would have got you right to the ground then a 10 min walk to Morrinsons for some good food, But if you are coming by train lots of roadworks in the city centre and through digbeth, Normally lots of busses but ask a driver first, Deffo better walking, You can go to The Square Peg in the city centre : 115 Corporation St, Birmingham B4 6PH.Its a weatherspoons .. Good luck which ever way you go.

Thanks Billy 👍 Great contributing from a rival fan 👌

Last time juniorbents_platformshoes and I went to St Andrews, it was a New Years day match about 10 years ago.
Cold, wet, think we got beat.
Then we couldn't find the car in one of the side streets.
Spent an hour looking for it.
😥

I've never been to St, Andrews....I think my dad would have disowned me, if I ever went.....him having been a Villa fan for 40+ years
But it's nice to see a fellow Brummie offering Northerner's a very warm welcome....

Just a thought Billy....are some of the pubs down Deritend heading out towards St, Andrews still decent drinking places?
A good Saturday started in the Shakespeare (which was a Blues stronghold), then off down the Irish centre, cross over the road to the Crown, then along to the spotted dog...quick couple in St, Annes catholic club and then off back to the Custard house to finish off the night.....

Must admit, lots of Brummies living up here now.....

We plan to drink at Shakesphere ,Wetherspoons then walk to the Wellington ( real ale pub) then it’s a short walk to Snow Hill for train to Bordesley. Advantage is that many are on 6-15 train back and easy walk back from Moor Street to New Street.
My mate isn’t fit enough for the uphill walk back into the City
Its only a couple minutes walk from Moor Street to New Street.

Happy memories , of getting home eventually that is. Vaguely remember Barry Ferguson getting sent off and it being rubbish. Not finding the car was the icing on the cake.

New Years Eve 2011? We got hammered, Ferguson got sent off, they were really good, they should have saved that performance for the play off semi a few months later.
