I have just seen another Hitler video which was put on the board last night and it reminded me of a passage from a book I've been reading about the end of the great war.
To set the scene, Hitler was in the hospital , having been blinded by an allied gas attack when he was told about the Armistice,
'Hitler gave way to his emotions and lay weeping on his bed. His sight had apparently gone again with the trauma of defeat. He had been under psychiatric observation at Pasewalk for some time, because the doctors were unsure of the real reason for his blindness. Some of them thought that gas had nothing to do with it and he was actually a psychopath with symptoms of hysteria. They defined a psychopath as suffering from a behavioural disorder resulting in inability to form personal relationships or conform to society. The disorder was often manifested by anti-social behaviour or acts of violence. The doctors were very worried about Hitler’s hysterical symptoms. What a shame no one realised, at the time, that he would become a monster of gigantic proportions.
Fortunately, twelve months ago today someone did realise there was something seriously wrong at BFC and put the wheels in motion to prevent further damage.
