hope thommo gets good reception on saturday

Why , he walked off to a our fierce rivals without a second thought he wasn’t very good when he took over caretaker . If he cared about Blackpool and the fans the last place you’d go is Preston
Imagine getting sacked by a club you had done so much for by text message and refusing to take a new very good position just because it's at a rival. Silly.

There will be some tidbits in my book about how much Thommo did for the club. He really was Mr.Blackpool. Deserves as much adulation as any badge kissing player

Utter bollocks.

Just have a think if you want to have a go at him. His wife is ill. Not saying any more but he deserves better than abuse. He's always keen to know what we are up to and is earning a crust like the rest of us.

It's not like the old days when they had to walk down half the side of the pitch to the dugout.

He will walk about 10 paces from the tunnel, so will go largely unnoticed.
Exactly,I remember all the will he won't he get stick about Ollie's return to Blackpool, what happened was this little man hobbled out and immediately got on with the job of coaching his team to barely a mutter from anyone.

Did he not score the winner for Bolton in a Sherpa Van semifinal at Bloomers donkeys years ago and we forgave him for that. Or did I dream that one?

Very possibly. I've erased that night from my memory. It took ages.

He definitely scored the winner in a League game at Burnden Park, in 1986 I think.

I too forgot he was there

Decent fella certainly doesn’t deserve any abuse at all

Up to individuals as to whether they give him a good reception and those that do don’t deserve any abuse either .

Come on guys Thommo is a superb pro and took years of abuse from the you kno who’s - his finest hours in football we’re with us and he worked miracles for us over many many moons.

I won’t even be lucky enough to be there Sat after back to back away matches but if I was I would roll out the red carpet buythommo a pint and buy him dinner etc

I guess he’s still a local lad and so we should respect all he has given to football and our town - he deserves a statue I ho

Cheers Thommo
Cambers
Ps I still think we’ll win

No problem with Thommo but he's hardly Mr Blackpool FC is he? Despite being a Blackpool lad he never played for us and was a pain in the arse against us. Grateful for what he did for us with Ollie but he's with them now and has been for quite a while. Good luck to him but only after he's finished with them.

Be hard to find a Blackpool supporter with a bad word for Thommo or wouldn't want him back in some role at his "proper" club. The fact he is locked in at Preston shows you how much they also value him as a coach and a man.

Sometimes there are exceptions to rules of local rivalries. Thommo is certainly one of those.

If it’s 0-2 on Saturday. He’ll get a brilliant reception, back at Deepdale!😉

He won't because he'll be back in his lovely house 100 metres from the beautiful Blackpool prom in less than 15 mins after he leaves the ground.

Be in no doubt the Pool are still and always will be his team. However football is his profession and after Koko bombed him out he quite rightly eventually took a job that's not far from his beloved Warbreck after travelling to Yorkshire for some time and why would he not? He has a mortgage and bills to pay unless some of you clowns have forgot, what would he tell his wife? "Sorry love, I might get some stick so I've turned down a well paid job 20 miles down the road even though Blackpool FC (aka the O's) have potted me and put me out of work" Trevor Hemmings showed him loyalty because when he didn't shoot off to Sunderland with Larry, he told any subsequent manager that Thommo comes as part of the package, like it or lump it. That's loyalty and Thommo deserves it and deserves our appreciation on Saturday, if we win I'm sure he won't be too upset. 😉

RB. Well said.

I don't know him personally but have met him twice. Seems a very decent, down to earth bloke.
I'll never forget what he did for our club but also the circumstances he had to do it under.
Top class coach for Blackpool and top class football man, he will get my appreciation on Saturday....

When you’ve got bills to pay and you are out of work you don’t turn a job down because some people most of whom you have never met won’t like it.

I’m pretty sure thommo would never have left us for the nobbers

That’s some of our fans for you…. Any excuse for a PKE ‘love-in’

First it was “Let’s have half an hours silence for Terry Hemmings” and know it’s “Let’s all Clap / respect Thommo”

Fuck ‘em

Thommo is a good bloke and outside of the games with them I'd happily shake his hand and buy him a pint but tomorrow isn't about pleasantries, he'll be wearing their badge, wanting a Nobbers win, sorry, it's a no from me also. A cauldron of noise, we don't want any of their players, staff or fans feeling welcome before or during the game.
