Huddersfield were lucky

I’m sorry if I’m being a sore loser tonight but they were lucky we were on top of them in first half and second half until the referee helped them with the Gabriel sending off after that it was backs to the wall, it was like when we played Coventry three seasons ago I am absolutely fuming and another thing that irks me is that our fans are throwing missiles again, I’m sorry but if they want to throw things, they should go play frisbee on Stanley park and not throw missiles at the match, it is a disgrace all round, I’m not happy at all 😡

Voyeur said luck wasn’t involved and I see where he’s coming from.
It was a silly second yellow and totally unnecessary.

At half time I thought it could go either way, second half I couldn’t see us losing until that moment.

The set up was very attacking but looked good. Grets struggled in his first game back and Hubby struggled against an excellent winger in Thomas.

The front 4 were a threat all match for the Pool. Madine won almost everything- Jerry, Keshi and Bowler were hard to contain.

I’m gutted we lost but I take heart once again that we are not a team struggling. We are as good as any team in this league

Please keep the whining to a minimum. This is a team and manager who care, and give it their all.

Agree - Pool and Critch are doing ok - this year is about consolidating our position in the league - and so far so good

How were they lucky?
The referee has helped them, simple as giving Huddersfield everything and giving us sod all, simple as, ok Gabriel probably deserved to get sent off but the officials has given us nothing imo, I’m just sick of the officiating in this league, I’m sorry but the officials in this league need to step up

That's simply not true. TT specs.

Usual garbage posts above

Gabriel should be walking home tonight and I hope Yates & Co caught up with hom in the showers

Unprofessional, lacks concentration, not good enough - the game was ours to lose and only one person lost it

We played well up to the idiotic red - anyone on a yellowin a Tangerine e shirt is a red card going to happen and Husband should have been booked first half too - Husband and Gabriel are liabilities - get rid of both

I’m sorry if you think the officials are good in this league then I’m gonna have to agree to disagree, nothing to do with tangerine specs at all
"The referee has helped them, simple as giving Huddersfield everything and giving us sod all, simple as."

That's just toddler talk I'm afraid. But I realise you haven't calmed down.

The officials at all levels piss people off. The Prem officials were getting slated by Shearer last week.

Ok Husband and Gabriel haven’t had good games today, but get rid of them? Behave

As above they were not lucky. Gabriel cost us with a stupid red and the subs didn’t work. We need to learn and move on

I admit i am a bit annoyed, but like I said we were playing well up to the sending off after that it was just backs to the wall it reminds me of Coventry three seasons ago at St. Andrews but im going to leave it at that

Huddersfield looked like a good side and played well, but 11 v 11 we were better.

We missed some good chances and after Gabriel walked it was understandably one-way traffic.

Relax, we more than matched them and I'm proud we have a good team at this level. Husband had a good game if you ask me, as did most of em.

Ps belting start to the game, and what a header from Ward!

Fair enough, I need to watch the game back, what annoys me as well is that our own fans have been chucking things, that I will not stand that needs to stop and those fans should not be coming to games at all 😔

The ref got both yellows right - if you can’t play to the whistle - yes the first yellow he was obstructed and u
Yes for the 2nd, Bowler should have had a free kick ….. nut cone on !

The sending off was right, ref got it right.

We've had some dire refs this season, today's wasn't one of them.
Fine margins!
Gabrial was stupid and I’m sure he’ll know it!
That has definitely cost us the game!
First booking he was fouled immediately prior, second one immediately followed Bowler being rugby tackled 3/4 times on one of his runs🤷🏻‍♂️
They’re facts!
But still no excuse for getting his 2nd yellow, frustration perhaps?

I’m on my way back and gutted like many others .
Definitely deserved something from that game, but hey we roll on to Middlesbrough on Wednesday 🤞and pending what boris has to say

They threw dozens of missives at us you clown.

The sending off was right, ref got it right.
Like I said I am annoyed and your right I haven’t calmed down, your are probably right Gabriel derserved to get sent off and I’m going to watch the game back and I’ll probably made myself look silly, so the referee might’ve got that right but I’m standing by the fact the officiating in the championship and all the other leagues for that matter is sub par and I’m going to leave it at that

I know they did but so did ours, leave the insults out of this please, like I said I am annoyed, we all are but just because the opposition fans have chucked things at us does not mean that our fans can retaliate and chuck things back, it’s not on 😔

** baby. Grow up

A poor result after a decent display, one missed sitterish and the sending off cost us. Once a heard the Yorkshire scum song I knew it would end bad.

Unfortunately there’s tits on both sides nothing we can do about it, it will always happen with fans so close. I’m annoyed about the result and the result alone.

Any others you want to stick knife in?
Madine, Keogh and Stewart, Ward too injury prone?
Connolly, James, Casey, Virtue not good enough?
Maxie too small?

Let's just sack Critch and start again

Get a grip our best results when he plays, may have been a bit rash but thr 2nd yellow was a nothing challenge and the ref was only too happy to send him off.

We've been screwed all season from refs.

Rhodes coming on lifted the crowd then we helped them with Gabriel. It was a certain away victory. Whether second one was a yellow or not Gabriel on a booking gave the opponent a chance to dive and the ref a choice to send him off. Everything changed on that

Completely disagree .
The ref gave us a lot more in the first half than Huddersfield the booing off at half time by the home fans directed at the ref proved this.
Yes the ref didn’t give us everything in the second half but that’s football.
The yellow cards we justified in my opinion and any player who lunges in like Gabriel did when already on a yellow Is just plain stupid.
The ref didn’t cost us today one man’s stupidity did.

Gabriel had a poor game and compounded it by getting a stupid red. He is a good player learning how to play in the Championship. Good game - fine margins. The future is bright and tangerine.

the ref didnt get it right, he was having a decent game until he the hudds player went off after treatment, the rest of the game he seemed to be compensating for not pulling the gme back when he theatrically went down. Madine should have been given a penalty as he was rugby tackled in the penalty area, both decisions on gabrial were wrong he was conned but i think he was looking to be conned.

They were lucky that we were naive enough to go down to 10. XI v XI we were bossing it and would have likely scored again.

Gabriel was poor today, and when he was booked, he should have been replaced at halftime. I noticed other teams act really quick to
replace a player that is playing poorly but we hesitate to take action.

The weakness in the squad today was obvious with the subs, although it was obvious that Sterling had to come on to replace the departed Gabriel.
The replacement of Madine and Yates with Laverty was never going to offer a real goal threat, plus the replacement of Bowler with Keough just invited us to sit deep and allow them to attack us. But we have a real lack of options and a lack of quality.

We need to invest in a big quick striker that is capable of playing on his own upfront and holding the ball, and also another midfielder as we really missed Wintle today when Carey tired and got injured.

It is a shame as I thought for the first 60mins we played the better football.

We need to stop doing stupid things and concentrate harder ! Keep the ball and take your chances - we might have won by more today with 11 on the
Pitch - we would certainly have made another good chance or two with a full compliment

Most players had a good hour today, without looking in complete control we always looked more dangerous than them and Anderson had another su
Web match - guys like Anderson & Echi won’t be hanging around if clubs come in for them in a week - watch !

It takes a long time to recovery ,mentally from cave ins like today and I question the mental toughness of a lot of our players

Blaming the ref never happens when you win 5-0. At the end of the day, if you give refs a decision to make, then you've made a mistake. Today will be one for the learning curve.

I think in some ways there were shades of that first game at Bloomfield Road where we looked comfortable until they scored.

That's simply not true. TT specs.
Husband and Anderson fouled on the edge of their area. Play on.

The 12 year old winger gets the slightest nudge from Husband and the lino is flagging like there's no tomorrow.

The same winger doesn't get a decision, literally stamps his feet and throws the ball away. Nothing from the ref.

Inconsistency and it's always against us. We simply don't get a break.

Some truth in that but TT specs get involved a bit. A poster on the Hudds board felt the ref favoured us most of the game. The reffing is far from perfect obviously. And maybe the key decisions went against us. But I don't think it's true to say it's always against us. We see things from one perspective. We authored our own downfall yesterday, really, I felt.

I think we should have been 3-1 up when Keshi should have buried that simple header from some genius play by Jerry. Different game if that had gone in. I also think their player over reacted to Gabriel's challenge, as admitted by Hudders fans nearby, but agree it was risky. But mainly I think that being pissed off after a narrow defeat with ten men away to a good championship team, after out playing them for two thirds of the match just goes to show how far this club has progressed, even since last season.

Balanced and correct 👍🏻

if the ref had given the first foul on Bowler the sendig offwouldnt of hapened either

Foul on Gabriel before his first yellow. Ref at fault if he’d have gave the foul no yellow would have been given. Foul on bowler before Gabriel’s second yellow. Ref at fault again fir not giving the clear foul. 2nd yellow wouldn’t have happened either. Ref at fault for not blowing for fouls prior to both yellows. That’s how I see it so ref did give Huddersfield the win in the end
Critchley in my opinion got the subs terribly wrong should have just changed Madine for Sterling at that point and deffo shouldn’t have taken off off Yates Madine and bowler three of the best players on the pitch yesterday

To some extent yes. I felt the subs left us with no out ball, and that invited pressure that ultimately cost us.

Huddersfield are a good side, an established Championship side - who have had a recent season in the premiership. We too are a good side, who are learning every game. It seems some of our fan base expect us to walk this league….. one win and ‘we’re only 4 points off the playoffs’ lose and it’s ‘we’re 5 points off the drop’
As a fan you take the loses with the wins and I’ll be happy just staying in this bloody tough division, because this league has changed massively since we were last in it!
The players will make mistakes and the coaching staff will make mistakes - if there’s one thing we need, and that is a decent number 2 to Critch!
