If I've done this correctly, 250 mph produces a force equivalent to 7,650 Kg per square metre, would any building in the country, other than a concrete bunker, survive that? I have my doubts.

Not sure what weather reports you're reading Curryman but we will get the tail around Monday/Tuesday but the wind speeds on the forecast for Blackpool are more like 30mph with plenty of rain, the Scots will no doubt bear the brunt of it.
