I feel sad tonight

Sad for NC, sad for the players, sad for SS and sad for us, the supporters. I think we all thought this was going to be a lot better start than this after the pre-season games and all the new players coming in. It just shows it's not easy, it really isn't and even though it was disappointing again tonight, deep down, I still think, given time, NC will get it right and the players will suddenly get it and we will improve. The thing is we have to be prepared for really tough battles every game and we need to be tough to deal with it.

No pleasure in that tonight and I hate hurting after a Blackpool defeat, especially when you can't fault the players commitment (apart from Husband).

Totally agree. It really is soul destroying. If this start proves anything, it's that it isn't easy to find the right combination of coaches, manager and players to do well, even if you spend money. I've used Peterborough as an example, always seem to spend loads and have an array of attacking talent but now in their 7th season in this division.
I am still of the belief that we will get better, but we need to make more intelligent choices and that means Critchley needs to learn quickly. For example, Husband has let us down twice now already this season, giving him the chance to do it a third time would be madness.

Everybody is learning, unfortunately us being a project for a rookie manger might end in tears, I hope it doesn’t and I honestly think we will turn it round. Sadler deserves the team too.

Nothing to feel sad about. The strategy of regenerating the squad with young, ambitious players is a sound one. If anything it didn't go far enough Husband, Notts and Turton could have been out through the exit door in the summer for me. Covid and the lockdown made planning for this season difficult but I still believe what happened was necessary.

Someone mentioned on another thread about bringing in a seasoned pro similar to Tony Parkes when Grayson was appointed first time round. I think there is definitely merit in that but also there has to be some realism that this was always going to be a transitional season.

Don't feel sad. Something will change.

Whatever that may be I am sure that Mr Sadler will not sit on his haunches. Changing the status quo needn't cost him a lot. And I'm damned sure he will not watch a relegation.

I think all of us were excited by this project. But sometimes, like the song, you've got to know when to fold them.
