I just wonder who is pulling the strings

Knowing what an uber fan Sadler is of Blackpool FC, surely if someone like Evo would have been interested in a formal interview, you would at least have seen the guy as a mark of respect for what he has achieved at the club.

Can't help feeling he is taking a back seat on this appointment and leaving it to the people he employed.

When you put it like that, it does seem strange that Evo wanted the chance to pitch for the job, having achieved what he has, and got a flat refusal.

If I'd have bought the club I'd have seen him just for the selfie and banter!

I don't have any problem with SS taking a step back and delegating this to BM, but I think we're all now questioning the process BM has in place.

I know that interviews have happened, how they choose to classify them, formal or informal sounds like a way of fobbing Evo off, think that's a mistake personally.

Lumping everything on NJ whilst only speaking to a handful seems a little odd especially now it looks like he may turn us down.

A tad disappointed in how this has gone so far, not so bothered about communication from the club more that it doesn't appear we're evaluating the market correctly.

So he’s leaving it to those he employs who are very keen to get best of mates in the managers seat?
Could backfire big time this.

It's not just about not evaluating the market correctly, the process itself looks a mess. We know very little about what's happening, granted. But if Jones was offered the post very quickly, as it seems, then who has been considered and how was he selected? Why the rush? And who has decided Heckingbottom gets an interview but not Evatt, assuming that is the case? And what if Pocchettino* applies this week? Do we fob him off, or Jones?

*Insert any manager who would trump Jones all hands down.

I get why they appointed Larry but if it's true they haven't offered a broad interview process this time around then I find that odd.

I also find it a bit strange if the word that Evo had no chance came from the club.

It's important to note the IF...

Ultimately it's less than a week since Larry went and perhaps we are being a bit jumpy. I hope so.

Love how everyone on here seems to think they’re an expert. Why don’t we leave it to the professionals to make the decision ey? I thought we were meant to be getting behind this new regime? If that’s the case then let’s just trust that they’ll make the right decision however they chose to go about it. Sadler is a smart guy, he’ll know what’s going on don’t worry

That was my point Voy absolutely no process to evaluate our options.

I'm not really a fan of waiting until the summer, something needs to be sorted before that.

But draw up a list of candidates who can do things on and off the field better than Grayson produced and go from there, whether they are unemployed or employed. Seems simple and from what I've heard the opposite has happened.

Could be a sign of BM being out of the country for a while?

If this turns into a disaster I can see BM following on from Grayson, SS won't mess around.

Why come and comment on a message board to discuss the club then if that's your thinking?

No ones claimed to be an expert, we're just commenting on the club, sharing our views you know the modus operandi of a message board. Bore off

Spot on

Football clubs make mistakes on a regular basis. Some of the people who run them are idiots. Not Sadler, though. But he wasn't anointed by God on Mount Sinai, unless that was kept in house too. Some employees are rubbish. Some decisions are baffling. Some businessmen don't know their arse from their elbow. Some businessmen look after their own interests above those of the organisation.

We are free to discuss things like this on here if we wish. Things aren't going very well at the club, at the moment, on or off the pitch. I'm all for supporting Sadler, we are all indebted to him, we want things to work out for him. It's not disrespectful to discuss how things might be done more effectively. In our opinion. And I would think the club likes to hear the opinions of its customers, any business should make that a key priority.

Agreed. I've seen this attempt to shut down all discussion on who the manager should be on Twitter, too. It's obviously going to be discussed on a BFC forum and amongst Pool fans on Twitter.

I do find the servile attitude of some our fans strange. I've not seen any disrespectful comments about Sadler tbh. If we'd have just blindly trusted the owner/people running the club in the past, we wouldn't have got rid of the Oystons. Thank God most of our fans are not so passive and disinterested. There's absolutely nothing wrong with us discussing it.

is Simon an Uber fan of Blackpool FC? Genuine question, did he attend matches, ST holder?

Not a slight on SS by the way as he’s doing a great job bringing stability to our once wrecked club just curious of how he supported the Club?

From what I have read and heard Mr Sadler was a season ticket holder for many of his younger years and stood in the West Paddock. I think games were few and far between when his career took off. Something you can understand. Glad head a success as he got to a postion where he could aquire Blackpool Football club 👍

excellent and yep he certainly has been successful in his work and hope it continues with us.
In Sadler we trust...

Rekt. Is Mansford out of the country?
I don't know who is making the decisions because I'm not in the know.
However a couple of facts. Sadler arrived in Blackpool on 10 Feb, the team lost on 11 February and Grayson was sacked on 12 Feb.
If I was to speculate I'd say Simon Sadler is very much involved in hirings and firings.
