I really want Evatt

Everytime i think about who i want the manager to be i keep coming back to Evatt. Doesn't help that he keep putting video on twitter on the way he coaches which makes you excited to watch a team managed by him. I just hope the club doesn't use the fear of the unknown to miss out on a man who could be very special for us.

It’s a great ‘Promotional’ video and certainly shows IE in a fantastic light. It’s release was certainly timed particularly well for the Blackpool role.

On that basis, I think it’s important to treat the video with a certain amount of caution. That’s not to try and diminish everything that IE has achieved so far or the style of football he has adopted so successfully with Barrow.

Personally, I would like to see him given a shot at Blackpool too, I think it is s a risk worth taking, but the board will have their own view and, that’s what matters.

If we can’t get him now, I’d say get Warnock until the end of the season with Steve Thompson as number two, on the proviso that Evo comes in to replace Warnock. Dream team, Evo and Steve

Theres a video of the guy from Rochdale when they won 3-0 at Southend earlier in the season. Watch that and the same could be said about him and the way he gets his team playing. Also how hes done amazingly well on a tiny budget, got one player sold was it for £1M to Wolves, bringing through young players etc. But we can speculate as much as we like, or want whichever person coming in, but unfortunately we just need to be patient...

The sad thing is there will be a group of our fans who will want the next manager to fail if it isn't Evo, just so they can say 'told you so'.

On the other hand if we appoint Evo and he fails, I'm unsure who they will blame then? I'd say mansford and nuttall, they seem to be getting primed for the hatred.

Hasn't Ben Mansford said the Board aren't afraid to make an unpopular decision? That doesn't sound like they're thinking of Ian Evatt to me. I agree though, I'd love to see him here.

The board already made one unpopular decision which proved a predictable failure..

Follow Grayson with a second cavalier flop and Bloomfield Road will again look empty.

Who in the right mind would want our manager to fail? If the manager fails, so does the team and the club. Surely no BFC fan wants that? Or am I missing something here?

When Larry first got potted I was dubious about Evo being too inexperienced and was banging the drum for Jones. But the more I have read and seen on Evo the more I want him here. You know you would get passion, desire and commitment to the cause. Also having looked in to it more he would try and get us playing the type of football we all crave which is to attack more.

I'd be over the moon if Evo got the job... but in reality if he has truly quashed the idea of coming then I just want a manager that can set a team up to entertain us.

imho Evo is worth a punt. I was initially against the idea till I read up a bit on what he was doing at Barrow and just his ethos in general. If it doesn't work out it's simply a case of .... NEXT. Not the end of the world.

Pretty much agree. I have read up a bit and been watching a bit of them on YouTube as well. Some positive signs. I think he is going to become a pretty good manager and would be perfect if he could achieve stuff here along the way

Not sure Evatt has quashed anything rather for whatever reason he doesn't seem to be being considered by the club

Maybe it's the fact that he's already in employment - BM did talk about not disrespecting Barrow ( or words to that effect ) and I get that

Of course there is also compensation to be paid when a manager is under contract as well as payments to the outgoing manager that continue. Expensive business changing manager !

And that's just it, I guess. Do we take a chance on him now or wait till he's either blooded in a bit more or a spent force. I'd rather us be the ones to take a chance on him though and gain what we can from his current exuberance.

As for the quashing... I'm just going off what I read on another post/ on here. Also, I'm aware that the club has already said "not enough experience" which was a little disappointing imo. If it's a convenient mistruth then I'd rather just know the real answer. If it's the actual reason I think it might be a little foolish. Wouldn't surprise me if not joining us was his train of thought, he seems the respectful type and obviously appreciates his position at Barrow.

(For family reasons) I'd rather him see out this season at Barrow anyway and then join us in close season. If he's a perfect fit I don't buy in to the idea of him needing a few months bedding-in during a season that's already over.

Whilst I appreciate that SS doesn't have endless pockets, I'd hope that his second managerial appointment wasn't even remotely influenced by a financial aspect of compo. If it were me... I'd be looking at getting the right guy in regardless for the first 2/3 or even 4 appointments regardless of cost and after that... taking a more stable and steady approach to the russian roulette affair of appointing a manager.

If we dither on it the ship may sail Without us

I doubt it would be prohibitive given we are talking Barrow here, no disrespect to them of course. Guaranteed preseason friendlies for a couple of years, plus paying his remaining wage, and throwing Nuttall in on a free would do it.

I thought Evo had a break clause in his contract in case a League Club came calling?

If he does that negates my point
Believe he’s on decent dough after signing new contract but obviously BFC is a big jump
Evo would be my first choice though I can understand the appeal of Jones
Looking at others but not Evo if Jones isn’t available is a little more difficult to follow

Im literally exactly the same as this 👍

I opposed Grayson from the word go although I hoped to be proved wrong, sadly that didn`t happen but I certainly don`t recall many others opposing Grayson last July.

Whoever is chosen may succeed or fail but I just think Evatt ticks a lot more boxes than any of the others so far regarded as possibilities.

Who is to say who will succeed and who will fail? The point will be it will be a collective, popular choice rather than one which fans might struggle with. That's when fans might start too drift.

What would getting Warnock achieve? He plays a totally different philosophy to Evo and he'd cost loads.

Evo all the way, it appears the clubs top targets don’t want to know. Instead of doing the rounds, being turned down and made to look desperate, give the job to someone who we know wants it and the majority want him. What’s not to like?

I think the Jones ship has sailed, he is not employed so if he was interested surely he would have been in place by now? Robinson is the one I would want but the approach has been rejected, doesn't mean it won't still happen, remember how Grayson left first time, think it was about 2 hours from denying him speaking to dirty to him being installed as their new boss.
