Ian Wright - Right or Wrong?

Can you criticise a manager for playing his own player and not take in to account the effect it could have on his international game?

Wright, speaking on the Monday Night Club on BBC Radio 5 Live, believes "someone should be held accountable" because it is likely to cost United.

"Ole Gunnar Solskjaer said he knew Marcus Rashford was struggling and played him against Wolves - now he's out for three months," said Wright.

"We're talking about an explosive player that's going to need to be right [to play].

"Solskjaer's under intense pressure to get United back where they were and he's thought about himself before he thought about the player - Solskjaer has put himself above Marcus Rashford's health.

"Now, one of their most promising and most important players is out and that has to come to the manager's door."

Rashford smacks of me a kid that wants to play football. He's not a Pogba or an Ozil, where the slightest thing they won't play.

Ole should manage him properly. Ole is a terrible football manager. United are where they are on the quality of their players and would be further ahead if they had a quality manager.

Do you think that Ole’s appointment at United was similar to Larry’s appointment at Blackpool based on former glories and not their recent record? The reaction from fans was very similar with almost a 50/50 split of those in favour and those against and both started well but soon faded?

As for whether a Non—English manager should protect our international footballers - sadly unless they created an ‘England side’ which was paid for by the FA and only played international football that will never happen!

Ole hasn't actually done anything in English football management? Pretty sure he got Cardiff relegated?
