Obviously keeper is no brainier in Maxwell

left back Husband or Garbutt
right back Turton or Gabriel

Centre half. How can you drop Thorniley after being told he could leave has been marvellous

Ballard Fantastic loan signing
Ekpiteta was fantastic before injury
Gretarson looks like a top centre back

also options of moving Turton. Or Husband to centre backs If needed
 
My personal back four on who I rate the most is:
Gabriel - Ekpiteta - Ballard - Garbutt

They've shown us over the course of this season now though it doesn't really matter who plays, a combination of any of them is sturdy now. I would feel more secure with two ready made centre halves at the back though - can't remember the last time we had two bloody fit at the same time!
 
Such a difficult question to answer and for me in you can only answer by splitting the side by tactics.

In a defensive minded game Turton - Ekpiteta - Grétarsson - Husband.

In an attacking team Gabriel - Ekpiteta - Grétarsson - Garbutt

The way were using our entire squad you have to be grateful to all those that but the squad together at the start of the season!

I wouldn't play two right footers at CB, if we have some left footers also available. At the moment Thorniley is on form defensively and his long balls out of defence have been terrific and been a real threat. I would play him with either Ekpiteta or Ballard. But the reality is with so many games we do need some rotation if all players are fit.
 
Was last night the small CB pairing seen at this level ever?
I was amazed that they weren’t just banging in cross after cross - total lack of flexibility by Posh

I was also a bit surprised at that because early on they looked dangerous from a free kick put into the box. I do think, though, that we limited this threat by pressing both their midfield and their defence so high up the pitch, not giving the room to play. That is something we should do every game, but need plenty of fresh legs in the squad to do it
 
The job of defenders is to defend, but those switched long balls by Thorniley,made me think back to Evatt under Holloway.
Let's hope they all have a role to play before the end of the season. We need more bodies back, to give tired legs a rest.
 
not sure how anyone could leave Ballard out. So for me, it 's him and Ekpiteta. The full back choice is much tougher. Attacking wise I'd say Garbutt and Gabriel offer more than the other two but Turton and Husband have more of a physical presence. All four full backs are playing really well when in the side so that's too tough to call.
