If we actually beat Sunderland home and away

Automatic would actually be a possibility. Peterborough will drop points as they’re not that good and with our squad slowly getting back to full strength, managed well, and with a bit of luck they would be capable of winning all the remaining games primarily due to the strength in depth we have at the back. Lincoln will be key, get 3 points there and you never know. More optimism same time and place next week 👍

Lincoln have just had a week off, if they've stuck to COVID protocols they shouldn't have been training together either. Combine that with the form they were already in and it doesn't bode well for them!

I certainly wouldn't want to be Sunderland having to play us twice anyway.

Feel like I’ve stopped at the Twighlight zone.
Both you and 62 loving the Critchmeister here on Avftt

Paulco will be here next posting photos or his bedroom with Kenny Dougall posters all over it

2 games in hand on Posh, win them and it’s only 4 points gap. Lincoln will be key though as they’ll be hyped up as been on bad run so it’s a massive banana skin but if we did win then why not, it’s not beyond the realms of possibility especially if we get Stewart and Madine back as well.

Chissy said Stewart was out for the season. Despite their poor run Lincoln have some good finishes. Will be tough, but we need at least a point.

Prob take winning 8 games of the last 9 games for automatic. I wouldn’t bet against it

I can't bring myself to looking at the Mackems' games.

The problem for me is I keep thinking that by the time we make the play-offs our unbeaten run will probably have ended. I hope I'm completely wrong

We have a good chance of making the play off's, as for those two games I wouldn't like to call it. All very tight.

HULL REMAINING FIXTURES.
Home Away
Fleetwood Plymouth
Sunderland Lincoln
Wigan Charlton

PETERBOROUGH REMAINING FIXTURES
Home Away
Northampton Swindon
Gillingham Charlton
Lincoln Doncaster

Plus another that I cant seem to find.

Hull should comfortably get 7 home and 5 away points leaving them with 88 points
P'borough should get 9 home and 5 away giving them 87 points plus any from the match I cant find.

Can Blackpool attain 88 points and overcome both Hull and Pboroughs massive goal difference between now and seasons end?

Even if we did beat Sunderland home and away I don't think we could so play offs it is and we all know what happens then 😁

My gut is telling me that Lincoln will benefit for a regroup and reset with the break and might be more difficult opponents for us than Sunderland who have all the pressure on themselves striving for automatic with a Billy big bollox mindset around the club.

Anything can happen in next few weeks.
If you look at the league tables 5 weeks ago many were tipping the likes of Oxford and Doncaster for play off certainties. Lincoln were top of the table.

Take one game at a time.
We are walking on a tightrope for automatic promotion. One slip up and we can forget them.
At least for the Play Offs its looking very good now.
If we make the finals we will have many of the injured players back .

Just about to post when I saw yours. 👍

I suggest we try not to get ahead of ourselves & adopt the one game at a time approach, as I'm sure the club will. Of course there will be one eye peeping at automatic & it's not impossible, but does rely on others dropping points. A playoff spot is much more feasible though.

Was reading one of the Sunderland message boards last night and the vast majority of their fans still think it’s a 3 horse race for the top two positions.
The majority are tipping us for the play offs but surprisingly few mention the two games we’ve got coming up against them and what could happen should we actually take points off them.
They do still have this mindset though that their the best team in the league by some distance and they don’t belong in league one.

How about this scenario - with Embleton unable to play against his parent club, we lose both games to Sunderland which then means a dispirited Peterborough go into the Play Offs, then we get Embleton back for all the other games including the Play Offs and roar our way up as planned all season.

Peterborough will drop points as they’re not that good
I thought the same after we beat them but they seem to be picking up points here and there which is all you need. Just have that horrible feeling if we did do Sunderland twice that Posh would still pip us at the post.

Peterborough's goalkeeper has just been ruled out with injury for the rest of the season..

Are the stars aligning? Overtaking Sunderland is in our own hands somewhat, Peterborough are out of ours but that could be a huge blow for them going into the final games!

And as such have the expectation to beat us twice. A heavy burden

BHOK
One area in which we are coming good, and at the right time, is strength in-depth and the loss of Embleton (IMO) wouldn’t be a major concern
As we get to the nitty gritty point of the season a lot will depend on who copes with the pressure the best.
We are certainly the form team and confidence is high, which is blatantly obvious when the team turns out. Can’t ask for anything else really.
My only concern is regardless of if we get promoted I think it inevitable that bigger clubs will be ready to pounce on one or two of our players.

I feel that if we get promotion, we would probably be able to keep our players, plus probably get season long loans again for Ballard and Simms, who I dont think they would feature in their Arsenal and Everton teams yet.
COME ON YOU MIGHTY POOL.

I'd take two draws to keep the momentum going. I'd take three points from six given our game in hand. Anything more than those options would be a bonus.

Spider's not been seen since January 28th hahahaha
He was the clown that was saying that we were going to build the defence around Nottingham as he was going to be a top centre back!
He is a good honest lower division pro but I wouldn't swap him for any of our defenders.

I think this only becomes an interesting scenario IF we beat Lincoln and Accrington and Sunderland and Peterborough (and to some extent Hull) start dropping points in their games. Certainly all to play for if that scenario plays out.

However, they've just signed a very good replacement from Stoke...arguably better than the injured keeper!

Automatic is out of the picture, the home draws killed that over the last few weeks. This is now about cementing our play off spot and ensuring no injuries occur that would scupper our play off hopes. Final against Pompey would be awesome!
