Incoming signing - Mitchell signed

Very happy with this. Should offer us something no one else in the squad can, who will give us another dimension going forward.

Good signing.

I'd imagine Husband and Mitchell will share the position depending on opposition/state of the game. Husband can also cover c/back.

Where does this leave Hubby?
Different players for different games. If we're up against a team with a good right side so our left back will need to defend more than attack then Husband is the obvious choice. Playing a team with a weaker right side then our left back can get forward more so we can olay Mitchell. Always good to have options.

Personally I like to see a settled side but I suspect that might not be Critchley's style and we have got quite a few players now that he will need to keep happy.

Know nothing about him. Is he more of a left wing back or just a left back..
Critchley will certainly have a few selection headaches. I wasn't Husbands biggest fan so I hope this guy can be an improvement on him.

I’d personally say leave Howe where he is as Turton’s understudy and get a Centre Back and one more striker in. If I’m correct in thinking we have 2 more squad places after this signing?

He will be a regular CB I reckon
It’s his best position.
I doubt JH will be a regular CB. At 5ft 10ins he is just too small. I think NC will bring in another specialised CB. As others have said NC likes competition and cover for places, so both JH and Mitchell will cover at LB. And the league programme is truncated this season, so rotating players will be important

I’ve never heard of him, without Google I wouldn’t have a clue who he his or who he’s ever played for. I’m sure he’s decent but I can’t help but think we have signed more than enough “promising” youngsters with talent, I wouldn’t mind a few youngsters with proven ability playing league football.

Don’t get me wrong I’m not knocking him and I’m sure he will be a good ‘un along with everyone else but a few more players with proper football under their belt wouldn’t go amiss for me.

He looked pretty comfortable going forward against Everton and Blackburn but was positionally a bit naive. Quite excited with the squad though.

Sort of agree. It's a fine balancing act and I hope he's got it right.

We'll see a couple more leave i reckon, maybe more.
This won't be the last of our additions.

Surely we'll bring someone in on loan from Liverpool once Klopp has finalised his squad for the season.

Great move. If he stays fit he could be a very very good signing. According to Wikipedia he was voted young player of the year at Man U not so long ago. An award was once won by Jason Lydiate, anyone remember him?

Anderson, Yates, Bez, Hamilton, Williams they've all got a fair bit of successful experience of League football, it's not just youth players fresh from reserve teams we've been signing.
I get that and to be absolutely honest I didn’t even know young Mitchell had been on trial with us - after so many years of “A Trialist” on the team sheet it’s hard to keep up and obviously a lot of you pay a lot more attention to football than I do these days to say the least. I’m glad so many of you are so interested and so well informed as I’d be even more clueless!

Think this lad will prove to be one of our better signings if he stays fit, absolutely quality player. Personally think Grand Ward fits into the same bracket, keep these lads fit and we have a couple of top end Championship players on our hands.
