Just been messaged by someone with contacts in the sports press. He says he has it on very good authority that Heckingbottom is the clubs main target, followed by Nathan Jones then Ian Evatt.
So not really anything we don't know, except that they haven't already got somebody lined up.

Thanks for the further confirmatory intel.

Hmmmm....why would Heckingbottums be top target if you looked at it objectively? I’m struggling to make an argument for him being the saviour of BFC

It may be true but it's also how the press works. They start the rumours that suddenly become the facts and it's probably started from the Mansford connection. That's also the reason why Heckinbottom is the bookies favourite.

Could the press be forming their opinion based on the earlier odds on Heckingbottom being favourite?

I'm really struggling to think of a reason why, with all the potential targets available, he would be top of the list.

Him knowing someone at the club seems tenuous at best, especially when the link is from a period when he wasnt very good.

Well sorry to piss on your chips but the 3 I've heard are Billy Davies , owen Coyle and surprisingly lee Clark.

All have promised attacking football and at least 3 goals a game. So happy with that :)

I've heard it's a straight run off between Sean O'Driscoll and Danny Begara with Paul Groves as the outsider.

The bettings changed. Heckingbottom was as short as 1/4 now out to 9/4. Dunn into 4/7 fav and Nathan Jones 10/3 with skybet. Granted it doesn’t mean much at this stage but interesting nonetheless.

Okay, my guess is that it will either be Dunn to the end of the season with an agreement in place with Barrow for Evo at the end of the season or it will be Nathan Jones in the next few days. Either of those options would do for me.

Kev has posted over there that his contacts tell him the new boss will be higgy. I've no idea what that means, but you heard it over here first. Second, I mean.

Heckingbottom is a Yorkshire lad and Ben and him are quite close friends. who knows whether or not there is any real reason for the speculation but its not an appointment that would fill me with optimism for the future.

Get the feeling TT's source has been on the sauce or looked at the odds like everyone else .. one thing we have learnt about the new regime is very little gets out until they want it to!

The thing with the betting odds is the bookies class 'next permanent manager' as the next manager in charge of 10 competitive games, so no doubt that is the reason why Dunn is now favourite, just in case he's given it until the end of the season.
