If we get beaten in these games im always looking at how it encourages the players in the next game when you’re dropping back down a level but im not even sure we take that from today.Just my honest feeling.

I thought the ref failed to award us many legit fouls aswell.

You really can't rush these things. A couple more years at the club, and I reckon there's every chance we could be looking at something approaching the finished article...

Don't you think he's aware of that ? Listened to any of his post match talks? Passionate , emotional , committed . He gets Blackpool , knows what we want , expect . Etc
We've seen huge improvements so far
.but until he gets a fit squad and some players of his own he's pretty much hamstrung .
You seem to have dropped into the top half of the negative posters league . A shame that

They were playing a league 1 team at home after being on the prep last season, have you seen some of our home game recently?

I'm not happy with a three year contract for Ihiekwe at 32 years old but I was really happy with the signing of Honeyman who is a good player, granted he hasn't shown his best for us yet but which Blackpool player has been outstanding and worth they're wages this season?

I understand that but didnt hear a single song from them all game, seen a few of their fans say the acoustics are poor in the ground though so that may be why (and the fact we were so loud)
 
Thoughts on yesterday, was too tired when I got home last night:

Evatt tactically played the game right. Sit in and try to hit them on the break. If we tried to go toe to toe with them they had way too much quality and would’ve battered us.

My only real disappointment from the game is conceding another set piece. It’s our Achilles heel. Every time we concede a corner I get very nervous. Even more so when it’s Lyons and Ashworth instead of Husband and Horsfall.

CJ. Has his critics but my man of the match. Our only real outlet, looked a threat going forward and did the defensive side of the wing back duty quite well.

Midfield. It’s non existent isn’t it. Just zero threat or quality. A bit soft too. I know we were playing a good team from a division above who constantly pressed but were just a bit…soft. Go down easily. Knocked off the ball. Need a bit of grit and a bully in there.

Didn’t disgrace ourselves but rarely threatened. Thought they never got out of 2nd gear. Fans were excellent and we need to have THAT kind of atmosphere at Bloomfield Rd going forward. Seen some fans online moaning about singing songs about old players. Look, if it creates an atmosphere who gives a shit? If our current players want songs about them maybe they should put in performances like Yates, Dougall, Patino etc? Just a thought

I agree with a lot of that tbf, reasonable assessment.
I thought the 2nd could have been a foul on the keeper but its one of them that can go either way, our plan was very clear, hit the ball over the top of their fullbacks which we did reasonably well, I do think we should have targeted young more though as he was booked early on and CJ’s pace was causing him lots of problems.
The midfield was awful yesterday, all 3 of them kept giving the ball away stupidly and often in dangerous areas of the pitch, the thing that annoyed me the most is there was never anyone for the 2nd ball, when we was defending we would clear it and their man would get the 2nd ball, when we attacked and they cleared it was the same outcome so im really not sure where any of the 3 were for the majority of the game

Although we pulled in 27,000 yesterday I would suggest, as I did a few days ago, that a good 80% of those were people going for the first time or maybe the first time this season. Lot of families, lot of day trippers.
Happens a lot - we usually have 29,000 every week of whom 90% are ST holders and people are clamouring for tickets that they can't ever get.
Blackpool fans were excellent - more noise than many Championship sides this season with bigger followings.

Bit like us with Carlisle when 90% of our fans couldn’t be bothered going. Should’ve made it a tenner like you guys and had a full house.

Hull against Blackburn less than 7000 today . A full ground on a cheaper ticket is a much better way to do things . Brings in first timers , more families , neutrals etc . That can only be good in the long term for the game in my opinion
