Is Devitt in the head count?

Apologies if already discussed but with Devitt not having a squad number assigned to him does this exempt him from the 22 man headcount for the squad. Without a number he can’t play, so,,,?

He could still be added to the squad but it's pretty clear that is not going to happen, I'd say.

I think if we're paying him, he counts in salary cap. Whether he counts in the count. No, I don't think so.

He'll reduce the outlay we can make in wages but not the number we can bring in. (I think!)

I think for this season we can exclude him from the cap if we exclude him from the squad and don't use him.

I think that’s the logical answer but you just can’t legislate for what the EFL didn’t think of when they come up with a new rule.

Can we re-employ him as the kitman's assistant? Even if the highest paid kitman in the country, he wouldn't count towards the playing squad cap?

I'll see if I can find the tweet, but I'm sure Scrafton said that as long as he isn't given a squad number then he doesn't count towards the player cap or the wage cap.

He won't count towards the squad numbers if the Club don't name him.
I don't know about the wage cap. I can see that from both sides.

Thanks chaps, so that's still 2 places left if I've seen it right. Surely the CB being one and RB the other now.

Why won't he go out on loan? Have I missed something? Do footballers not want to play football?
Not sure. Carlisle seemed hot on him coming back but maybe they've hit their ceiling. It's got to be tough on you when your employer doesn't want you there but they're contractually obliged to put up with you. Probably been advised by his agent to sit tight and wait for Mansfield to offer to pay his contract up

Mansfield? Well I suppose they could. Bloody auto correct
