Where is any official word from Fansonline??

We’ve had this attempted “coup” once before and unlike BFC x3 and others I ain’t 100% convinced everything is on the level. I may be totally wrong and in some ways I hope I am but I WILL 100% find out very quickly and post my findings

Not sure who actually runs this but as I am barred from the other site I am not complaining. This seems much more 21st Century the last one was like beta max lol
 
Haha, next you'll be telling us the moon landings were fake, this is just a new update of AVFTT & huge improvement at that, congrats to FOL and AVFTT for doing a good job
 
The official word from fansonline was posted on the thread the other day... 👍

We were reliant on the forum pretty much self moderating up to about 6 months ago, unless we got complaints or saw posts that needed editing ourselves, however after a similar thread to this one on the old forum, we asked if anyone would like to take over and moderate it. Three fans came forward (none had ever moderated before) and two of them have continued to moderate but both wanted to remain anonymous, which we understood and respected. Hope that answers your questions.

The worst that could happen is basically zero Daz BUT it could be that this new site Is run by self selected types which could be why posters like Southport have been “refused” but with you being a conformist I guess you wouldn’t get it??😉

So apart from Southport (who claims to have been refused) who else is there who has struggled to register? Because I'm really struggling to understand why anyone, even the supposed self selected types (by which I presume you mean Robbie, being as he's the one that seems to have all these accusations thrown in his direction) would wish to prevent himn from signing up. It makes no sense and as I've said, Jez has already confirmed it's them (i.e. Fansonline.net)....Why would people go to such extremes to lie about it...It's only an internet forum?
 
I'm sure avftt will address any issues with people signing up when raised... 533 users so far so.

Hardly looks like being selective. I want all members to come over and even floating viewers some of which couldn't sign up to the old one to come here too.

The more opinions and different views the better, as its adds to debate and arguement, which makes it so much fun at times.

Daz, look at all the posts deleted on my “why owns this site thread”...look at the Timings of the last two posts ..they have deleted loads ..something’s rotten here mate and I am surprised at you sucking it down without any proper critical appraisal tbh
 
AVFTT have confirmed Jez runs the site which confirms to me (what everyone else thought) that it's legit. He always had plans to upgrade and here it is. 👍

Maybe I am taking you too seriously, but this is now the second thread along similar lines, which is suggesting something untoward with the site. So either you are taking the piss or you're going a bit doolally IMHO

Because the existing Forum isn’t shutting down at all Daz......it isn’t...they’ve confirmed to me ....so why is Bazbob and his ilk pretending it is AGAIN?......riddle me that Batman?

WTF are you on about Blood? This is the original people updating the creaky old site we have used and loved for years. It's just a message board FFS! What posts have been deleted? If they have maybe there was good reason? Posts used to be deleted all the time on the old site. Why are you trying to make something out of nothing. The cynic in me would say it is a handy way of boosting your rankings up the "League tables" that are, in my mind, stupidly put on here. I mean surely you wouldn't be the sort of person who wanted to be king of the posting and reaction charts?

Oh, and on the subject of the old board, there are some on there refusing to come over here because it's "too Tech" or too difficult to post on, that's utter bull shit too. I bet they'll all be over once that one is shut down, it's a bit pathetic reading the excuses to be honest.

No they haven't confirmed that at all....They have confirmed that the existing AVFTT forum will be replaced with this forum, in due course. At the moment they are running this forum and the other forum...They are not replavccing the famsonline 'Site' on which the new 'Forum' will eventually be located.

Hope that makes sense....

Herts, don’t presume to say I am making something out of nothing as if you are the only voice in Town. I ma very very suspicious about the characters involved in this and would like to know who is involved
 
The two guys who have run it for years and Mods they have appointed. All forums haveMods, it is to protect the forum from legal proceedings and to make sure the rules aren't broken. I don't know who the Mods are, I don't need to, I don't want to, They must be mad to accept the responsibility if you ask me. But it's hardly some clandestine, sinister movement against say........ baldies!!
 
There's a pinned tweet on the old board which answers all these questions -- see below -- emphasis mine:

"So, this forum has served us well over the years, but a bit like an old banger it is past it's best and we're finding it difficult to maintain and update.

"So, we have a new forum which we've been testing for the last couple of weeks with 30 or so regular AVFTT'ers (thanks to them) and have hopefully ironed out any start up problems that we might have encountered.

"The site is on a new server which should make match days a lot easier. The Middlesborough site have also been trying out their new forum (including matchdays) and we are experimenting with advertising on this site which will transfer on to the Blackpool site. This new forum will eventually be rolled out across Fansonline.

"We've decided to release details of it now because we know matchdays have been difficult and frustrating of late. Just for reference, both forums will continue to run until such time as we feel everyone is aware of the new forum and then it will replace this one on the Fansonline website (ie on this site).

"So you can now register at the link below - all new users will have to be manually accepted to start with (you will receive an e-mail when approved and we have staff on hand all afternoon to approve new users). I can see how the other site is perfectly fine on a pc or laptop, but it’s hard work on an iPhone X with all the resizing and messing about you have to do to view and post. Using this site on a mobile is so clear and easy and user friendly. I immediately retired from the other board as a result.

Old forum is knackered and crap. Opened new forum but on a different platform. Waiting for old users to register on here. Once they are confident everyone has come across, this forum replaces the old one. #Simples

Beat me to it Cable Cat. I don't know why it is so difficult for some people to understand this, but there you are. It's a shame we have had to wait five years for it.

The shutdown will depend on the vast numbers of Boro fans embracing their site and it all working on match days. Could be some time yet for a shutdown of AncientViewFromTheTower
