Garbage if true, I would hope SS has more ambition, sounds like a job for the boys, that’s nots what’s needed here right now.
 
He inherited that Barnsley side, he was awful when the main players left, and poor in 2 following appointments he is a 1st team/ youth-coach a good one but never a Manager.

Yes I can aswell but hey ho it is what iit is. We can’t do anything about it. I would like to have seen someone like Gary rowett or Nathan Jones come in
 
Very poor if this is true and not even sure if I’d want him ahead of Grayson and that’s saying something!

Absence of any caretaker announcement is another sign though. It could be wrapped up already.

Then again it could not! Something will come out in the next couple of hours.
 
He's available and has links to Mansford so was obviously going to start high up the bookies list. He comes across as a decent bloke and did a great job at Barnsley, other than that, he's been average at best.

Odds don’t just slash from 6/4 to 1/4 for no reason I would say it’s nailed on now but hope I’m wrong on this occasion
 
God our fans like to moan, his record was ok in the Scottish prem, which is a better league than ours and he’s young so still learning.

Could be ok.
 
I have just got in and seen the news, I can't say I'm surprised and although it's very sad for someone to lose their job it was absolutely the right thing to do. He was a mistake in the first place. Which brings me to this news. Paul Heckingbottom!! Surely that has to be a joke, a very bad joke, SS already made a big error in employing Grayson, the last thing he wants to do is put someone in charge who would actually be worse!! If he is announced I can see a lot of discontent from the supporters and rightly so. Let's hope to god it's not true. Personally I hope they have already approached Barrow and are doing a deal to get Evo away. If he was offered the job there is no way he would turn it down.

We will see now if SS has learnt from his first big error. If it's jobs for the boys that would be disgusting and sickening so here's hoping the next manager is full of passion and wants to play the game properly.

He started well in SPFL but faded, he won 1 of 11 league games start of season lost to Celtic in Cup 5-2 and was potted..his win ratio is ordinary.
 
Nigel Adkin’s was slashed from 10/1 to 1/6 in 2014 following some idiot posting that he had spoken to him in Frankieand Bennies NearThe Swift Hound.He was actually200 miles away.!
 
To try and put a positive spin on a potential Heckingbottom hire......

He could be temporary until the end of the season as he is known to the board, and merely a carry over until Evatt finishes the season with a promotion at Barrow and a successful goodbye?

Or I might be talking bollocks 🤣

Keith Southern would make a very good assistant. Spoke to him last year and although he’s enjoying his time coaching the youngsters at Everton, I’m sure he’d make a move to get on the management ladder.
 
His managerial record makes it look like he peaked in 2015-16.

Going off those stats, and taking in to account we've just been burned by someone who was once successful and who's career has since hit the skids, you have to wonder what the hell they would be thinking by hiring Heckingbottom.
 
Maybe Karl should get a job assisting in picking managers if this is anything to go by!!

Evatt and Thommo would make a lot of sense, but you'd imagine Evatt would bring his staff from Barrow with him.
Part of me thinks after being bitten on the arse by appointing Grayson, Sadler won't be as 'emotional' with his next choice.
 
Interesting that a rumour by Mosser stating the CEO knows Heckingbottom lead to this betting frenzy. Just as well he wasn't best mates with Neil McDonald or the board would have gone in to meltdown!
 
I seriously hope and pray it isn't Heckingbottom. His tenure at Hibs was hardly fantastic was it. Like stated he inherited a decent Barnsley side. I just cannit see him being the man to take us forward.

Is it a better standard league than League One tho? Take out Celtic and possibly Rangers and the standard is quite similar
