Its a bit late in the day for all this

It was obvious to anyone with half a brain cell that any new head coach worth his salt would want to change the squad, bringing his own players in

No matter what the avftt experts said this was always going to be the case

Just think it's all a bit last minute.com

The season has started and we still need players in for key positions, it's also looking like we will be losing a few

The problem all summer has been getting deals done for new players and that's worrying if we have to replace a few

So much for the transfer policy and clear strategy, all looks a bit scattergun to me

I might have to review my seasons expectations at this rate

We're going to see Maxwell, Keogh, Lavery and probably Garbutt or Husband go and that'll be the spine of our squad. Bit worrying all of this 1M here, 1 M there. Are they talking to agents ffs? Get a heads up first about what the player is thinking and then go to the club. That's surely standard procedure. Feels a bit amateur hour currently.

I would suggest it’s maybe a circumstance lots of clubs find themselves in, there’s very little money about anywhere. I said at the start of the season survival will be a success, you Pooh poohed it as negative, I said it’s realistic. Maybe you should pay more attention Phil.

Appleton hasn’t been in long - blame Critchley for going when he did. It would be interesting to know how many of the deals that fell through were ones Appleton wanted.
Agree though, we’re going to be a quarter of the way into the season at least with the way things are going before we have any signs of a settled team gelling.

It's a right mess to be honest mate

Don't get me wrong the squad does need to change but all this should have been done weeks ago

We’re a bit like the position Man Utd are in. New manager, lightweight midfield and not overloaded with quality strikers, and not landing players with a scattergun approach . Just minus the funds to do something about it.
Also, clubs know we're looking for a CM and have made bids for 3/4 players. So that's 20/25% added onto the value of the players without them being worth it.

New coach would want to assess the squad before bringing in new players so the timing looks OK to me
A lot of our players, were bought / free transfers in L1 and maybe for some the Championship is a step too far.
If we turn a profit on them though the outgoings were hardly disastrous signings

Agree about scattergun approach. We seem to be trying to sign players who arent actually available, a bit like desperation. I would have assumed there was a priority list of targets from the be end of last season, we have 1 or 2 people on the staff identifying players I assume and any plan or priorities ought to have carried over. Still dont have a strong holding midfield player.

I think it's fairly obvious that we missed all our identified targets.

SS has already said that players get cheaper as the window goes on. There's the transfer strategy. He said it in that address to the fans thingy him and BM did.

Never mind right deals for the club it should be right players for the head coach
He’s not looking like much of a head coach if I’m being honest…

He’s coming across as one of them bad workmen who blame their tools.

So much for the idea of continuity…. He’s pretty much eradicated the squad in a single window 😂

I think this post sums up how out of touch with reality you really are.

Much rather any deals that are done are right for the club but also fit in with what Appleton wants.

Sounds like you’d much prefer us risking getting into a Derby situation with is nuts.
Unbelievable...

Mell Morris spent 300 million of his own money 💰

He's no Critchley.

Isn't that what Critchley also did and was praised for it 🤔

I dunno, but that was before we started the whole ‘head coach’ and recruitment thing….
First window Critchley had he decimated the previous squad he also brought in several of his own players and then got shut of them

It's always the case that a new man would want his own players in

@Philbfctrois

Phil mate, SS has already come out and said he's not made of money. He's just a lad from blackpool, probably the only person interested in buying the club at the time, trying to do his best for the club with a very modest budget.

What the hell are you expecting of them?

They're putting bids in, clubs/players are saying no... what else are they supposed to do?

They are actively pursuing targets worth far more than the oystens ever did, other than DJ who was an absolute one off.

Need to be realistic. We're a small club punching above our own weight, trying to sort out 20 odd years of neglect, whilst funding a squad of men, with the supposed long term manager walking out in the 11th hour.

Maxwell, Garbutt and Lavery are nowhere near the spine of our squad. Keogh is great business for us, getting a fee at his age. I don’t see Hubby going anywhere.

As for the bids, not much we can do when agents & selling clubs make details public, to either bump up wages or the transfer fee. What’s happening is that clubs know we have money to spend. It’s a strange situation, not one we are used to.

He may be a lad from Blackpool but he's also worth around 100 million quid, he certainly wasn't the only person interested in buying the club

He actually bought the club for a very cheap price and the club is worth considerably more than when he bought it

Yes , We should have brought in anyone willing to come to us , no matter what there ability is or how much it will cost us. That's the only way you would get players in weeks ago. Or you could use some common sense and sign players that you feel will help the squad at the right time and right price.

Ahh yes I forgot you actually know everything.

He said himself there was very little interest in the club when he bought it.

Also worth 100mil doesn't mean he's got 100mil in his pocket ready to spend it on all of your approved players.

He's spending 40mil on a new training ground and East stand ffs 🤪🤪🤪

More nonsense

He's borrowing 40mil to spend on a new training ground and East stand
And the man's building for the future of the club, so it can compete on a solid financial footing with homegrown players and income streams to make Blackpool financially safe, year after year....

But you wanted cheaper season ticket prices
And then you wanted the club to spend more money to buy even more players
And now, you have to revise YOUR expectations.........While SS spends millions.....I'm sure SS is shitting himself, that were not up to your standards.

Of course I wanted cheaper season tickets and match day tickets as we have thousands of empty seats, I think the pricing policy is garbage considering we don't sell out

I want the ground to be full of Pool fans

The football club needs more players does it not?

And how is me wanted more players and cheaper tickets even linked?

What a bizarre post

Either way it certainly won't be a gift
Of course not. And that's been my downside on it. That money will be sat as debt on the BFC accounts and we don't know how the loan will be structured and repayments thereof, it could be repayable on demand (impossible for BFC). The overriding point really is the loan will be there as SS passes the Club on.
