It's Appleton :(

That’s my biggest question mark over the appointment. He never seems to stay long anywhere. Why give him a 4 year deal
Only a problem if we sack him, which is a distinct possibility as the vast majority of managers leave a club due to being dismissed.

I imagine after everything that's happened to him recently, his family also live around Preston he'll want to stick around. We're a different prospect than when he was here under the stains.

Does feel like a cheap and nasty appointment. Guess we'll just have to see how recruitment do. He did ok with a good squad at Lincoln but that was league one. Surely there was better out there. Very disappointing.

We are all Blackpool supporters. We should get behind the guy. Not my choice but I wasn't present at the interviews and discussions. Got to trust our board and our owner. It goes without saying he needs to get off to a good start.

I get the distinct impression this appointment hasn’t gone down too well?🤔😊

At least you can add a new item to the half time menu, along with the pies and candy floss. How about a toffee Appleton?
How’s the Lowecomotion coming along?

I see no one wants to buy PKE yet?

Happy times alround. ☺️

Watch him
do
the double over you lot and the subsequent meltdown on your forum.

If only no one ever questioned anything ever, ey?
Do you not trust that they held a thorough set of interviews, and that out of all interviewees, Appleton was the best for the job?

Coz there's 4 people holding the interviews that did so... unanimously. And they've met the bloke (and the rest of the people who interviewed), which I very much doubt you and 99% of posters on here can say.

Seems a decent bloke young and steady. What we want. Forget last time around as his employers were not the best. Think he can guide us through what will be a difficult campaign next season.

Honestly? No I don't.
I'm not naive enough to believe there may be other factors involved other than simply Appleton being the best available. Did Rosenior and/or whoever else turn us down, leaving us with Appleton as the best/only choice from who remained from the interviews?
That in itself is a totally different situation to simply Appleton being the first choice.

Is this the same selection group who hired Grayson? This seems just as disastrous hire as bringing Larry back; time will tell.

Like I said further up, if interviews and subsequent hirings were 100% successful, there would never be a bad hiring, ever. There are plenty of awful appointments that start out with much fanfare and nonsense press conferences trumpeting how x is the right man for the job; Blackpool Football Club aren't exempt from this.

If he is a success, I will happily hold my hands up and say I was wrong, but I can only see this ending up in tears.

Hopefully a lot of Humble pie eaten at Christmas. I’ll be tucking in and hopefully a few more on here will be too

The guy has had to deal with health issues and now deserves a little luck hopefully it will be with us . I cannot feel excited about this appointment but I do wish him all the luck in the world .
Lots didn’t fancy Ollie when he was appointed and look how that turned out .

Very uninspiring.

Clutching at straws trying to think of any positives.

At least he won't get poached by another club.

Could use that Voldemort death stare to our advantage if we aim it at our opposition.

Being based in the East Midlands, Lincoln were terrible last season. Home supporters stopped going to watch the dross football. The only reason they did well in the season before was that they had Brennan Johnson, Jorge Grant and Morgan Rogers. Terrible choice as manager. They may as well have chosen Carlton Palmer. Many in Lincoln were dancing in the streets when he went!

It is what it is - so let's give him a chance (again).
Can he attract the right players & will he buy the right players?
Always struck me as a bit of a psycho thug, who motivates through fear.
Never know, the guy might smash it.

How long before the mob on here are singing "Michael Appleton's' Tangerine Army??

🤣

I’ve read a thread on his appointment on the Lincoln fans’ board. There’s certainly no ill-will shown towards him on there and the overwhelming majority think he’s a good man and good coach and should do well at Pool.

1 pre season game, people already doing about turns somewhat.

hope so. might not have been my first choice .... but no reason to not get behind the applecart.

every chance he'll prove to be a great choice.
