Seems he is finding life difficult at City.
Pep has told him he needs to show what he can do which, I assume, is why he isn’t getting started in games.
Thing is though, Pep signed him so must have seen something in him.
This is the problem for half decent players (that is my own opinion of Grealish). They are in a team of mediocre players and lauded by the fans and then get delusions of grandeur and move up to a significantly higher level (can’t blame them I suppose) and then end up a little fish in a big pond.
To me they are one trick ponies, running at defenders at speed which looks good when it comes off (a bit like Bowler) but then teams get wise to them and muscle them out of the game.
There always has been (and always will be) players of that ilk, who flatter to deceive but never really hit the big time.
Keith Gillespie always comes to mind and I’m sure everyone on this forum could name a few.

City are at Villa tonight and it’s will be Sod’s law that Grealish gets the winner 😂

He has been injured pep also pulled him on his social life
Apparently he likes to party a lot

Pep doesn’t put up with any crap regardless of status or price paid.
It’ll do him a lot of good and benefit England massively next year once he’s had a full season at City
Agree with this. There's a lot of evidence from former players, many of whom are miles better than Grealish - Thierry Henry for one - to show that Pep is an incredibly hard task master who has precise plans and won't tolerate players not playing to the plan and their assigned role. In the Henry case, he was saying something like 'I played in the first half, scored 2 goals and he subbed me because I wasn't holding the position he asked me to hold when we didn't have the ball.'

Grealish will need to learn plenty about how City play with and without the ball. Pep will develop him along those lines and won't think twice about not having him in the side.

Hard for him though, he's come from a team who's main aim was to give him the ball and then he had free reign to do what he wanted with it, usually falling over and getting a free kick.

I think the problem with this country is we love to single out players and go mental at them.

Back in the war (5 years ago int Navy), I'd go out on the piss every night before going on duty or operations. They're allowed a social life.

I start to think there is an element "if we own them, they cannot play for our opponents" You buy someone as high profile as Grealish, you know who he is, but you want to change him totally?? I don't get it.

And don't forget Pep is not even the best manager in the North West.

Indeed, he's third best, some way behind Lord Critch of the Introverted Winger

Barcelona still haven’t managed to emulate the Pep years. Admittedly he had some amazing young players like Messi, Iniesta, Xavi etc.
However he was the one that told the board to sell the older stars like Eto, Ronaldinho,Villa etc if they wanted him to step from academy to first team.
He demanded let him do it his way (promote the academy players I listed) or forget interviewing for the job.
Like Ferguson, Wenger, Paisley and others - they have an inner belief and drive as a manager. They don’t listen to outside noise and expect total commitment from the player to everything they say.

Wenger somehow got hold of all the drinking culture club mentality at Arsenal and broke it in no time.

Grealish can enjoy his life outside of football but purely within Peps rules. Like it or leave.

Grealish is a great player. An outstanding talent. He's proved it for England and he'll prove it for City. City are a team of outstanding talented players and so he's got to adapt his mindset to realise that it doesn't always depend on him as it did at Villa. Pep will help with that.

Grealish is a show pony of a player. An unproved player that stood out in an average team mainly for his ability to collapse in a heap 20 times a game and win dubious free kicks. He's not proved anything for England who are very reluctant to want to play him and it looks like he's already been found out by City. City are a team of outstanding talented players and so he's got to adapt his mindset to realise that it doesn't always depend on him as it did at Villa. Pep will probably loan him back to the Villa sooner rather than later.

In fairness, when you have Messi, Xavi and Iniesta in the academy (or Giggs, Beckham, Scholes, Neville etc.) it's less of a punt to say 'let me bring them through.'

I've no idea if Grealish actually is a boozer. I suspect he's no worse than the next man, but he's definitely tabloid fodder. He'll be the most recognised player by English women in the country. Everything he does will get blown up.

That post is the biggest load of shit I've read reference a footballer than isn't ours. He certainly has proven it for Villa, he helped get them promoted and stay up.

He played a bit part for England and assisted numerous goals in the Euros.

And he's done pretty well for City, to say you're ** miles wide of the mark, is being kind.

Southgate and Peps opinion or yours. Now let me think, whose is considered to be more knowledgeable on this?

Pep signings normally take a season to get going B. Silva and Cancelo case in point.

Grealish will come good. i

Think Mac has been down to AFC Fylde too often. His opinions seem to be of a very low non league standard.

Spot on, he's a top talent, and will improve further when he's settled in under Pep.
