Jake Caprice

He was one of the 'development squad' who like most of the rest of them disappeared into non league but unlike the majority of them re-emerged into league football via Tranny and their rise.
 
I'll add, whether he's any good, I have no idea really. I don't think he was very good in 2012 but might have learned his own game by now.

I don't think that weird shadow squad of kids got a very good deal in retrospect.
 
If he is better than what we have got, then fine. Haven’t seen Howe play, but Caprice will have way more experience than him.
 
I actually him play for us, in a pre season friendly at Wrexham.

Strange times those. For two years, we had Paul Bignot in possession of the number 2 shirt, I have no idea what he looks like.
 
We are for probably the first time ever seen as a club with a bit of money and who is willing to spend it on the club rather than the owners. It also appears that we will now deal through agents. Every agent worth his salt is therefore going to try and boost their clients value by saying that we are interested. Most times we won't be but of it gets a client a bit of publicity then job half done.
 
Howe is weird.

Why buy a player from someone else's reserves if he's then going to be a reserve at a lower level?

I think he's probably one of the players who suffered from us not getting to play some essentially meaningless games at the end of the season where he could stake a claim.

Howe was signed after playing very well against us for Reading. He played us at a time when we were all over the place and we’d have made a team of blind goalies look good.

Howe might turn out to be half decent, I’m just saying there was no scouting conducted on him or a plan of how he’d fit into the squad.

Last seasons recruitment was completely haphazard. I can see everyone who was signed in the previous 12 months not being here in the next 12 months.
 
Paul Bignot! Thanks for the reminder on that one. Like to pride myself on knowing all the random signings of that time and somehow forgot about him, our marquee promotion signing!

Teddy Howe is a decent player. I've seen him play tons of reserve games (quality not the same as league football) and he stands out (in a good way).

I think he'll come good.
 
Was here from 2012-2014 and didn't play once! Since been at Leyton Orient, Woking and Tranmere - prepare for my backside being on full bare display in Burton's shop window if this one happens!
