Hmm I only like the second part of your suggestion,. That we somehow get Simms. Loan maybe with a view to permanent ...
Would Simms want to come when he's knocking on the door of the first team? Different situation to 12 months ago.

Is Simms actually on the verge of breaking into the first team? I doubt it. they just have a number of players missing, no? He's not played higher than League One yet, it seems logical for him to have a spell at a Championship club this season. To get back in the groove and show what he can do.

Agree. If Everton want to see how he's progressing, with a view to developing him for the first team, they could do far worse than handing him over to Critch for the second half of the season.

No idea tbh pal. 4/500k?
I would also be happy to pay that sort of sum for him, just have a concern that Cardiff will ask for a lot more, in which case we look elsewhere or wait for our defensive midfielder injury situation to improve.
Stewart must be close, Virtue possibly early next year and things look significantly better in that area, which means we can concentrate on a striker in Madine mould but more mobile and a better return, and an attacking midfielder/free kick specialist

I don’t count Stewart and Virtue tbh because ones always injured and never really rated Virtue. Think we need a permanent fixture in the middle of the park and Wintle has been impressive.

Yes was at Liverpool youth for a short period watched him a few times young improving looked a class player.
Saw him at Morecambe a fair few times when he was younger. Looked a real prospect back then. Works hard, not afraid to put his foot in and can finish.

Why would Ekpiteta go to Everton? Has there been interest in him?
This is a hangover from the Oyston era mindset - we still think we need to sell our best players every year. Two decades of selling to survive indoctrination. Well we don’t, thank Simon. 👍

If we get good offers we should not hold players back. I am happy that what has fundamentally changed is any transfer pluses will be re invested. At some point Casey should be given a chance.

A creative midfielder and a strong all round forward with an eye for goal. I wouldn't sign Dale but Critchley will.
Also we should be working hard to ship out Howe, Nuttall and Lubala.
Agree with most of that but I’m confident dale will come good in the next 18 months judging from the limited playing time he’s had so far, calling him a duffer is a bit harsh!

I don't know where people get that from, he will go out on loan to someone in Jan, hope its us!

Dale hasn't had a real run in the team, we are a club that develops player and that is what NC will be looking at, I think the lad has done alright so far.

He’s shown no indication he wants to leave. Talking him up for a transfer invites other Clubs’ to come looking.
It’s like a big “Come and get him” message that cash-strapped Clubs’ put out to agents to drive up interest and value.
If it happens, it happens.
Appreciate it’s part of SS football model, but with SS we know the cash will be re-invested not disappear into an Ormerod sized black hole.
We need to get away from this mentality and wider perception that BFC will be bullied into discounted transfers by ‘bigger’ Clubs’.

I like the look of Owen Dale. It's hard to judge him properly but I like the way he switches play and seems to make quick decisions. He also is (for a wide man) ok in the air and seems also to do both sides of his job, both attacking and defensive. He plays with a bit of aggression and strut.

He seems to me, to be the kind of player who has a bit of self belief. The problem is, we could really do with him playing on the other side to which Critch seems to want him to play

I absolutely endorse the need for a creative/goalscoring midfielder tho. That is the key need.
