Jerry Yates

King Billy totally understand your point ,but (I don,t want anyone that will not run through a brick wall for the mighty )don't care about how good he may think he is ,!

The games mostly about money these days. If he wants the money that badly then hopefully he’ll perform for us and work his way up the leagues.

Can't understand all the hype with this Yates bloke (who knows what's in the lads mind ) ,but if I were Simon or Neil ,or who ever is in the process of signing him , I would. Be thinking maybe time to move on ,I honestly believe the lad or his agent are playing a waiting game ,hoping for a bigger fish to come along ,and we don't need players who aren't 120% about playing for us (this has happened so many times under the scums tenure we are passed all this surely (this could be our future defining season if we keep calm all will be okay)up the mighty tangerine forever ,just wish we could have a pre season southern Spain 😒.

And that's why you are on here and Neil Critchley and Simon Sadler are the ones who make things happen..... Thank the lord!!

I’m past caring whether this guy signs or not. Seems to be a lot of fuss over a bang average player to me. If he joins, fine. If he’s stringing us along, move on.

“This isn’t Fifa or Champ Man, it doesn’t happen at the click of a button.”

It’s not that long ago we didn’t have a fax machine!

It must be a very odd time for players (along with everyone else), especially in the lower leagues.

When will the new season even start?

If they are thinking of transferring, will the club they might go to still be around in 3 to 6 months time? What’s a realistic salary in the current market?

Mind you, some of them might prefer not playing in front of fans 😂

I note Paul Davis appears to be Rotherham's Scrafters. Some of this will be down to the Millers wanting to create as much interest as possible. Patience is the key, if we have a bid accepted and the lad comes for talks I'm sure we have as good a chance as anyone in L1.

Well Nixon said tweet yesterday that our offer of 250k was good enough for Rotherham and that we are looking good for him but it's just down to Yates now if he wants to move here

I doubt any club has even spoken to him yet
I think it's going on too long
I think its only been a week
I want players to run through brick walls
I don't want players who just come for the money
I think he'll do a job
I think he's shite we shouldn't sign him.

FFS its nothing to do with us.
1. Its down to if Critchley wants him
2. Its down to whether Sadler wants to stump up the cash
Simples🤷‍♂️

Re the tweet from the Rotherham Scrafton, the chances of them having any sort of exclusive and it staying a secret until the paper reveals it is highly unlikely.
We'll all know a lot sooner than the local press, such is social media nowadays.

Amount of people on this thread calling him average because he isn't signed yet etc, most of who'm have never seen him play.......stay calm ffs

Been said a few times, he's ours and the managers no.1 target.......just chill ffs

If he does sign, good. I just don't want him stringing us along while he waits for what he perceives as a bigger club coming in for him. There'll be plenty of players who do want to play for NC and who recognise the ambition of the club. The coach will have others on his list.

How can he be training really well with Rotherham if he is in Marbella ? And , if they are training, why aren't we ?

Rotherham‘s local paper says that our bid has been rejected for Yates. It states that if we meet the valuation he’ll be gone.
Don’t want us held to ransom feel we will get our man in the next week

Then we need to set about shipping out a few

Couple of top loans and a good look at unfortunately what will be a load of players without clubs . Picking up a couple of experienced heads

Rotherham are not a cash rich club and if Yates isn't part of their plan, we are right to be playing hardball as they'd sooner have the money in the bank than a player sat in the squad.

Rotherham seem to be getting their own back for the Tilt situation. Yates would be a great signing if it comes off but I wouldn't be letting Rotherham mess us about. I think it was wrong of them to be disclosing who had bid etc to the media, trying to create noise to bump up the price.

Might be a stupid question but why don't Rotherham want him now he's found form? surely a goal scorer will help them in the Championship ... 🤔

Previous answer... one year left on his contract, value will only go down, if he does get games and does well vultures will circle, need cash for established players etc

Goals in L2 doesn't guarantee goals in L1, let alone the Championship. If they really wanted him they'd offer him a new deal and have them in their plans, clearly this isn't the case and they are looking to offload. They are also stalling to try and drum up more interest and a higher price. Therein lies the dilemma, most L1 clubs don't have a pot to p1ss in.

Who would you get rid of?

According to Alan Nixon, Swindon have ‘matched’ our bid. Whether or not that’s instalments it’s not remains to be seen

Jamie Devitt, Ryan Edwards, Michael Nottingham, Grant Ward and Adi Yussuf can all go for me. I'd listen to offers for Nuttall and Delfouneso as well. All on the basis that we're looking to bring in a good few, of course.
If the kid wants to go to Swindon then he can. He's loved there and he knows he's gonna be number 1 with Doyle now at Bolton.

Also depends on what wages are on offer. If we make him our highest paid player, he’s be earning probably double what he’d get at Swindon. Makes a big difference.

I thought we might have secretly wrapped this up already, looks like I was wrong.

Think he may end up going back to Swindon at this rate. If so we move on.

Are Swindon just playing a game to appease their fans. Waiting and matching an already rejected offer but on worse terms seems an odd tactic. Being relatively local I know how much their fans rate him but also that they don't exactly have a mountain of cash to splash. With Wellens on a few clubs radar on top of that it is an intriguing transfer.

We've done some analysis on Yates. He's highly rated by Swindon fans. Was often played on the wide left and scored nearly everytime he was played in Doyle's position.

Forgot about Tilt being there. Hope Yates doesn't ask Tilt what the fans are like.
