Bloody hopeless as Morecambe Manager and so why did AFC Fylde employ him? Maybe Haythornthwaite doesn't want to pay the bills any more and would sooner go back to being part time. Wouldn't be surprised if it's up for sale at some point soon. Some football owners pockets aren't quite as deep as others!

There is nothing wrong with being a good non-league side. Maybe that is what DH should have aimed for?

It would never happen but to be our feeder club and stick to being a decent non-league side would have suited both parties? I'd imagine Weston, Shaw, Simms etc would benefit greatly from playing together locally at a high standard of non-league footie.

We shouldn't have anything to do with them. They shamelessly tried to steal our fanbase saying they were the club of the Fylde.

Plus their facilities aren't all that. At least two games called off when we've played. Wouldn't want our players getting injured on a sub standard surface.

I think it's a bit unreasonable to say Bentley was hopeless at Morecambe . Probably the smallest crowds in the league ,absolutely no money to spend. In my book it has been an achievement to keep them in the league. Obviously he has found it difficult at Fylde but they are definitely on the slide.

Jim Bentley did a great job as Morecambe's manager keeping them in the league on a paper thin budget.

Frankly I despair of some people. How would a ‘non-hopeless’ manager have gotten on at the poorest (financially) club in the EFL over the past eight years?

Frankly posts like this make me a bit fearful of the reaction our new manager will get ... assuming it’s not Klopp or Guardiola.
