Not at all. It was only one small part to redraw, and looks like he has changed it now, as it happens. Artists correct all the time as they go along and certainly donā€™t wait until the end when itā€™s more difficult to fix. Appreciate itā€™s very awkward working on massive scale. Biggest painting Iā€™ve ever done was 6 foot square on stretched canvas, and kept having to stand back - which isnā€™t easy on a cherry picker. If you think thatā€™s having a moan, then I suggest you need to get a grip. šŸ˜¬

To be fair, heā€™s only made an observation about the drawing as per the picture posted. The observation wasnā€™t done in a nasty way and it was bang on.

Yes people can wait until the end to point stuff out, but itā€™s kind of a bit too late when heā€™s packed up the Cherry Picker and gone home šŸ˜‰

By the way, the middle bit of the badge is skew whiff based on the last update šŸ˜‚
 
The artist will get this spot on as the publicity when finished will be huge.. like others have said he will tweak it at the end.

Can he do more around Blackpool :)

Never to late to come back for good cause anytime day or night and I am sure Matt the artist feels the same, there are those who appreciate someone's time an effort . Then there are those who moan about pies been luke warm and coffee bit strong at half time, Each to there own i personally think he has done a very good job and I know which fan bracket I am in. As for pulling the badge I know which bracket you are in one thing for sure opinions do vary

I think he's got his own style rather the photorealism I was expecting, thats not a criticism by the way.

Yeah it's also better to look at the pic below as it's not at an angle.

It's never going to match perfectly but maybe just a few tweaks.

The pics they've chosen is in the sun, so the shadows under the eyes are there but looks like bags a bit.

His hair also doesn't dip in the middle, its straight on the pic.

But its looking good overall.

You can appreciate someoneā€™s time and effort and simultaneously recognise that the job isnā€™t quite hitting the mark at the same timeā€¦

Weā€™ve all contributed to the fund for this mural and it needs to be right.

The badge isnā€™t right palā€¦ simple asā€¦ the blokeā€™s being paid Ā£10 grand of the fans hard earned money..

If youā€™re happy to settle for a half cocked BFC badge and a mug that looks like Clarence the Cross eyed Clown then fair play šŸ‘

That shows how much you know he has NOT been paid 10 grand as you put it. GET YA FACTS RIGHT before posting absolute rubbish. The amount raised maybe 10000 the artist fee is no where near that amount you are quoting. Just shows you how idiotic rumours start

Well Ā£10K is what fans have contributed for the Mural and the bloke is being paid to do the job.... So people have a right to comment..

You've come on here wading into a bloke who has made a genuine observation in a very reasonable way (nothing more than that).... You're talking like we owe the artist some kind of favour and that we should all just be grateful for any old shyte... I think you'd be ** happy if his head was upside down... Hopefully it will turn out OK in the end..

I havenā€™t posted anything on this thread, Iā€™ve been prepared to wait and see how it progressed. I know nothing about the construction of art but I must say if the finished article is anything like todays picture I will be very disappointed.

Of coarse anyone can comment 99.5 per cent of sensible supporters will love it , I think he has done fantastic job great choice by the Armfield an others on artist an choice of player. Like I said before opinions vary but no pleasing some is not easy, being grateful and any old shite has just shown what level we are dealing with his art is excellent. Might just nip down an ask him for a sub tomo nearly finished he should be quids in

Some re-work needed to improve the likeness.
Donā€™t shoot the messenger:
Proportions not quite right, shadows too dark.

Feedback (mainly face related, although take the point about the wonky badge):
- hairline at top incorrect
- eyes: wrong shape, pupils too large & missing eyelid shadows, whereas shadows/bags under eyes too dark.
- smallish nose needs to come down further
- mouth shape, missing top lip
- chin shape is curving the wrong way
- why the triple chin fat?
- patch of light on forehead to cover the unnecessary worry lines which age him.

The silhouette crowd is spot on. (Although the bright white numbers should be toned back a touch.)

Personally I couldnt draw breath but I agree with the points outlined above. To be fair to the artist he hasnt finished yet and he can no doubt turn it all around given his undoubted talent. Today will be a big day I guess and tomorrow it will be in full view.
 
Given that the artist hasn't finished yet, having looked at yesterday's photos, if it doesn't change much I'd be very very disapointed. JA and his family deserve a lot better than this as at the moment it looks very poor, I just hope that the artist manages to sort it out so it does look like Jimmy in his prime.
Also, I think that those who have donated should be informed how much the artist is being paid and what is happening to the money that is left over after paying the artist.

The clue is kind of in the name ā€œThe Armfield Clubā€

The trick now is going to be making it look like Jimmy Armfield instead of my mates dad ā€˜Billā€™ (who Iā€™m sure will be thrilled, even temporarily to have his image displayed atop a slightly podgy Jimmy Armfield body on Bloomfield Road)

And, yes the bloke does seem to be a great artist (some of his work is awesome) and in fairness heā€™d obviously spotted the same issue that Neil highlighted previously and has gone some way to sorting itā€¦

I think once he sorts out the cock-eyed badge and gets the face right (which you seem confident he will) it will be absolutely stunning and something all Blackpool Fans will be rightly very proud of šŸ‘

In fairness, that was my mistake Norfolkā€¦ Thereā€™s absolutely no question of any impropriety .. Other significant work needed to be done to prepare the wall for the mural šŸ‘

Have you ever thought for one minute the head is off a different photo oh no you didn't think of that well it is, not to worry like I said can't please armchair artists. Anyway just asked him to rectify the badge he has come up with suggestion hope this makes all you ungrateful ones happy,

Itā€™s not a case of being ungrateful. We as fans paid an artist to paint a mural of a BFC hero, this if itā€™s the finished article bears very little resemblance to Jimmy. If you paid a builder to build you a two storey extension and instead he built you a conservatory you wouldnā€™t say well never mind itā€™s near enough and the builder wouldnā€™t say a full extension is beyond me this is the best I can do. If, and I repeat if tjis is the finished article I for one will be extremely disappointed , and I imagine so will the Armfield family.

Anyone who puts time an effort to improve anything to do with club paid or unpaid should be grateful , which is showing appreciation for something recieved . So I myself am grateful for Sadler grateful for all who made Armfield club what it is and grateful for Matt the artist and his time an effort, with that question you have quite clearly made it clear what type of person you are. You know we could have a battle of wits but bit unfair challenge unarmed man / woman

No pool fan would put a nobber badge on Jimmy.

I've already said the artist is very talented, seen some of his other work, its not easy on a cherry picker up close.

But the face isn't right, a few things to tweak and it'll be a lot better. He needs to get this right.

It's also not finished and I'm sure he'll want it as best it can be.
