JOEY BARTON GONE

Hopefully they get a real dud and plummet into the National where I would then look out for their results just like the old days. Their training ground sale to us may help their finances, just a thought for Pilley

The way he treated Bobby Grant was crass to say the least, Grant challenged Barton about team selection and that was the end for him. Now correct me if I’m wrong but that goes on all the time with players who aren’t selected and is part and parcel of the game. Grant was upbeat, smiley and his nature is to crack a joke...you want those characters in your dressing room. The Evans incident is about a joke, a laugh, a giggle....after due consideration I think Barton doesn’t like people who are funnier than him 😎

Shows the class that exists at that club.

Regardless of your opinion on Barton or how it ended there, in the context of Fleetwood Town he has to be their greatest ever manager. To release a club statement containing a sentence is disgusting.
Their greatest manager ever?
I think that accolade should go to the manager who got them into the football league!

So that’ll be everyone then. 🤣.

Or is it just intentional humour? Because that ‘Allo Allo accent was rather brilliant.

I know it probably isn’t the main thing or even a thing at all. Just another notch on his balance sheet.

not sure why anyone would touch him with a barge pole.

I don't mind him but I think it's fair to say that I'm in the minority.

I remember discussing him with one of my mates once and saying that I thought he should be given the benefit of the doubt over something, "You keep defending him if you want, he keeps quoting all these philosophers but the only place that cnut will end up is back in the shovel".

I think he shared your doubt.

Fleetwood Town chairman Andy Pilley makes the following statement following news Joey Barton has left the club with immediate effect.

"I'd like to put on record my thanks to Joey Barton for job he's done during his time at Fleetwood Town," said Pilley.

"Joey has been a pleasure to have at the club and I'm sure he will go onto have a hugely successful career"

"Today's decision was a tough one for me to make, but I felt now was the right time for the club to go in a different direction.

"We will make a further announcement in the coming days of our plans in the short-term regarding the management of our first-team squad."

If I’m honest I’m not really that arsed about him.

But his list of being an absolute whopper is almost endless, if it’s not assault, it’s racism , if it’s not that he’s using a team mate as an ash tray, if not that it’s drink driving, if not that it’s etc etc.

just a toilet of a human being.

Well I like Barton but pretty sure I could manage the cods current squad to 10th.
Hope they somehow don't land Cook cus I think he could be pilleys missing piece.

Nearly got 'em promoted to the Championship, which for Fleetwood is like us getting to the European Super League. They may have even got automatic if it wasn't for COVID as they were on an amazing run and only a few points out if I remember correctly. I'm not well versed in Fleetwood's history if I'm honest and just had a google and they finished 4th in 16/17 - never know that, had fallen out of love with football due to the boycott by then!

He was also manager when they got their one and only win against their Fylde Coast Giant neighbours in Tangerine, Blackpool 😉

I love Thommo and I think he would jump at the opportunity but surely he'd be a cheap option ?

For the benefit of the tape, I mean his salary would be lower than most of the other options and not that he would not be up to the job.
Wouldnt he negotiate a salary, it would be his own fault if he accepted peanuts. Maybe its another refusal. 😂😂😂

I am sure he is capable of ensuring he get's paid what he's worth.

The point I was making is that his salary would be lower than the majority of the other candidates.

I don't know whether or not he is a candidate to be honest.

I think we should put a bid in for the Poolfoot training ground as I am wondering if Piley on a cost-cutting exercise with all the other departures announced.

A Blackpool FC loving chairman/owner and a former Pool player as manager what’s not to like about them?
Could end up Wiz’s second team. 😂
Chris Beech has more connections with Fleetwood than Blackpool. Played for them too as did quite a few of his family.

Chris played for Fleetwood? I know Stuart did but cant remember Chris ever playing for them.

He scored the goal which sealed promotion from the North West Counties League in 2005. Ended his career there.

That amazing run of form was that good they got to 6th in the form table. It really wasnt all that, as the playoffs demonstrated.

In-house interim appointments by looks of things, opportunity to save money and cost cutting with removal of Barton interim period for AP.

Expect that to be the case while all this uncertainty around.

Sure there will be more on this as the week progresses ...

It’s amazing to think we’re all Cod haters at heart on here yet so many of us know every little detail about them and their business. 😮🤔
Must have read it in the Gazette. 😁
17 million owed to AP's businesses last accounts.😲

Was overrated as a player....
I’d say the same as manager...but it’s a league 1 hoof ball, where he should have played..😎

Peanuts compared what’s coming for this season finances and for just about every league club.
Your joking it's 50 million split between two divisions even if split equally that's barely a million each which it isn't.
Lge 1 £375,000 Lge 2 £250,000 then the rest calculated on gate receipts good job they played us last season!
20 million out of the 50m left for grants not to be paid back if you can prove you haven't overspent.

Be lucky if the Cods come out with half a million.

I'd say that's pretty impressive, 12 unbeaten. 5 wins on the bounce as well, not quite the perfect 10 but not bad for little ol' Fleetwood!

I think they're just a bit like Preston, can't step up to the big occasion. As proven by the Tangerine monkey they have on their back with their record against us.

I'd like to see him get Carlisle promoted. Think it would be a mistake to move at the mo. Hearing that things arent too good at the Cods. A mate used the term "toxic"
Mr Toxic has left the building, surprised it has taken Piley this long.

Yer poor choice of words saying it was peanuts I suppose.
It's a good chunk is that, but like Wiz says the position their in with crowds they’ve been losing money on a steady basis and it isn’t going to change any time soon.

I keep hearing from a lot of different people that if it wasn't for covid Fleetwood would have gone up automatically last season.
No they wouldn't. They would have got themselves into a decent position maybe but then completely bottle it when the pressure was on. Just like they did both times they got into the L1 playoffs.
