Leyton orient won’t know what they’ve lost till he’s doing it for us week in week outA good DM won’t stand out because they tend to go relatively unnoticed whilst they do the dirty work.
That's what some of their fans are saying. Hes one of those players that you don't realise how good he is until he's not playing.Leyton orient won’t know what they’ve lost till he’s doing it for us week in week out
It would be a good signing, but it’s not done yet! When the club announce it as a done deal , then I will be a little excitedAm I the only one that would be very happy with this? He's stong in the challenge, provides a layer of protection to our defence, bring energy to the MF, a serious hard worker. He seems to fit everything we were missing in mf last season. Orient don't seem to want to lose him, most of the fans I've seen commenting don't want him to go and seem to think he will keep on improving. He was one of the stand out players in a team that finished above us and very nearly went up. All sounds great to me. I dont get the negativity or who people realistically think we are going to sign.
They wanted to keep him so I doubt itI wonder if Wellens put in a good word.
They did, but he wants to be nearer his family apparently, so if the club know he wants to leave they want the best deal for them and him. They wanted to keep him so I doubt it
This is definitely an important position that we need imo. Sounds very promising. My biggest concern is our signings don't tend to get leaked these days, so hope it goes through!
I'll go further. Until he speaks really well in the club interview, meaning he's an ace player, it's not done and I'm not excited. It would be a good signing, but it’s not done yet! When the club announce it as a done deal , then I will be a little excited
All the Orient fans I'm seeing comment about is are all saying that he one of thoes players that you don't realise how important he is and how good he is until hes not playing. I've looked at a few clips of him and I get what theyre saying. Players like him never seem to get the love that they deserve until theyre missing and suddenly the MF is falling apart.Evans and Morgan are both more highly rated than JB on whoscored.com. JB is a DM but whoscored says his weakness is tackling. So it'll be interesting to see what he's like in real life. Different from Evans and Morgan no doubt, and another option. I wonder how Wellens feels about his departure? May feel El Mizouni is an upgrade. May wish he had both. I've no idea how good JB is, will have to wait and see. I'm guessing our coaching staff must have been impressed with him last season in the two games they saw him up close.
Edit. Just watched some of the Pool v Orient game in TTV. Brown looks ok, functional, no frills. Sitting deep and playing the simple pass, not going into tackles, not physical or assertive, just ok for me, unlikely to start in a 442 perhaps, with Evans, Morgan and Honeyman to accommodate? Feels to me like Wellens knows what he's doing here. Will have to wait and see though, of course.
The kind of player you want to tie down for 4 or 5 years and keep in the squad. Unglamorous and does the dirty work. All the Orient fans I'm seeing comment about is are all saying that he one of thoes players that you don't realise how important he is and how good he is until hes not playing. Im not really sure on this one. Our midfield was certainly caught out last year and they were certainly flogged and needed a rest but that being caught out was more due to us playing a 2 and just getting outnumbered every game by other teams playing 3 in the middle. If we are to change formation to a 3 then its a good signing but if its as a 2 then i dont really see him playing in front of any of Evans, Morgan or Honeyman and it really making a huge difference as to whether we get out numbered or not. He does seem to be able to fill in a few positions though so he seems to me like a good squad player. Suppose we will see how we set up. In any case its not a bad signing, im just not sure how he fits yet.
I'm afraid not.Are Morgan and Evans good enough for a top 6 side? Bruce will have his thoughts on that.
If he signs will be Tangerine Ted's new whipping boyThe kind of player you want to tie down for 4 or 5 years and keep in the squad. Unglamorous and does the dirty work.
Or 10 years if your name is Keith Southern.
Dare I say it, but Norburn was a bit of an example of this. He wasn't good enough for us (so let's not pretend i'm saying we should have kept him) but I did feel like Evans played better with Norburn alongside him.Last season we played so many games where we were like the England team of Gerrard and Lampard. Battered some teams where chances were taken but so many times both our midfielders were caught out of position and neither really wanted nor were capable of holding the defensive position or had the energy to get back quickly.
England are seeing something similar again now when we have an array of attacking midfielders yet no real quality to protect them. Often asking Rice, Bellingham or recently Curtis Jones to put a foot in and cover the gaps.
Pool need the DM. Even if he's not as good a player as Evans, Honeyman or Morgan. We were too unbalanced last season and also our bench was rubbish. If it's not this kid then a n other is needed badly.
I had hoped that Honeyman was brought in to play as a box to box CM. However, in his latest interview with the Gazette, Bruce described him as a replacement for Carey. Maybe he is going to initially play on the left in Carey's inverted midfield role?Dare I say it, but Norburn was a bit of an example of this. A more mobile version of Norburn would not be a bad thing. Brown alongside Morgan would be an interesting two, but i'm still not sure where Honeyman fits in amongst any of these signings (though that's a nice problem to have).
I almost hope that is the plan for Honeyman, I think that allowed a nice balance whereby that LM became a midfield 3 at points, but had the freedom to drift a bit.I had hoped that Honeyman was brought in to play as a box to box CM. Morgan probably just about but Evans, no.Are Morgan and Evans good enough for a top 6 side? Bruce will have his thoughts on that.

We definitely need a DM. Let's hope this lad can do the business.Last season we played so many games where we were like the England team of Gerrard and Lampard. I muted that idea when he signed but got shouted down that, this would be square in round holes. The experiment certainly worked with Carey and results backed it, so I just thought that Bruce may well look at deploying that tactic again? Particularly as Coulson is a natural wide attacking player so the two wouldn't be in each others way.I had hoped that Honeyman was brought in to play as a box to box CM. This was always my gripe with Carey. Left Norburn, Evans exposed .but so many times both our midfielders were caught out of position and neither really wanted nor were capable of holding the defensive position or had the energy to get back quickly.
Ennis, in particular, probably needs to play in a front 2. His hold up play isn't the best.A 4-2-3-1 with Honeyman in the number 10 role with Brown and Morgan as the holding MFs

Nah, he'd just sell off the assets cheap, be worse than the Oystons!Wow, I thought it read Gordon Brown. I thought it was a prudent purchase!
No way nearAre Morgan and Evans good enough for a top 6 side? Bruce will have his thoughts on that.
re the opening of your second para, that's the type of player our fans can't seem to take to! Barry Ferguson, Norburn and Evans. And no doubt others too. The player who sits in deep, gets it and gives it keeping it simple. Maybe, though I feel we really need that type of player. So I'm up for us signing one, but we need top end L1 quality. Hopefully this fella is. It seems like a decent like for like replacement for that position, if anything Honeyman is probably a bit more natural than Carey out wide.I muted that idea when he signed but got shouted down that, this would be square in round holes. oh i agree. I just think that whoever it is will have to go that extra mile to win over some of our fans.Maybe, though I feel we really need that type of player. So I'm up for us signing one, but we need top end L1 quality. Hopefully this fella is. Time will tell.
Maybe 4-1-2-3, Morgan Honeyman slightly ahead of Brown. Ennis, Fletcher & Bloxham front three?A 4-2-3-1 with Honeyman in the number 10 role with Brown and Morgan as the holding MFs
Apparently anyone can amend Wiki pages. Best to wait for the announcement by the club. Looking pretty good though. On Saturday under Jordan Brown Wikipedia, it stated Having Medical at Blackpool.Today states plays for L.Orient no mention of Medical or Blackpool????
Yeah, and it’s not like he’s been seen outside Notariannis yetI'll go further. Until he speaks really well in the club interview, meaning he's an ace player, it's not done and I'm not excited.
