Jordan Pickford

Agree with you Kurt. Certainly northern players get more stick playing for their country as well. And I've heard it myself at certain games.

His form had definitely dipped, but maybe that was down to believing his own hype and being over-confident?

A lot of people hate you when you play for Blackpool! Ask some of our players. I'm sure Pickford gets a lot of unnecessary grief off the plankton that follow England. I'm not sure he's the best English keeper, seems to flap about a lot. Limbs!

He is prone to bad mistakes (like on Saturday) but also has some brilliant saves in him (like on Saturday). For most the mistakes are more memorable but I am not sure why some 'fans' try to destroy the confidence of someone who is on their team (Nuttall anyone).
I think the Burnley keeper is a better choice for England or the Watford keeper who has been brilliant this season.

Or Dean Henderson at Sheffield United.

He was over-hyped when he came in, and the criticism has been equally over the top in some cases. Football mirrors life in that respect, as nothing is balanced or nuanced anymore.

He needs to be a bit careful though, as he comes across as a bit of a mard arse.

Should have saved the goal he let in on Saturday.

The new Rob Green. He'll go a while without one, but you know a howler is just round the corner.

What Robbie said.

The reincarnation of Lev Yashin during England's lucky run in the World Cup and now he can't catch a cold.

Probably always been somewhere between the two.

Used to be a fan of Pickford, but think he's been average for a couple of seasons.

Best keeper (English) at the mo is Henderson. No coincidence he is at the top of the table for clean sheets.

We have always treated our England stars poorly - especially the most talented - from Beckham to Rooney to Sterling - I bet few have good memories of playing for England in comparison to their club sides.

maybe at Wembley, Ghosts but at away games a majority are Northern fans who follow England and the lesser clubs at that.
