I enjoyed that today. Apart from the last twenty minutes (which was understandable) we played a lot of good football with the new signings very prominent in all the good things we did.

It was more satisfying in the sense that Southend did not come to lie down. For a side in a hopeless predicament I thought they showed a lot of guts and no little enterprise. They were hopeless at their place but looked much, much better today.

Others have sung the praises of Ronan (a joy to watch at times today), but he had a free role and won't have that every week. I share the general opinion of Moore - he looks a thoroughbred at first sight, especially when he gets time on the ball. I really, really like Dewsbury-Hall though. He does so many things well and Spearing must be delighted to have all these hod-carriers around him for the first time in his Blackpool career.

I thought Delfouneso improved us when he came on, and Gnanduillet showed some unexpectedly good and subtle touches today.

Final word for Grayson and his team. Good management is in part about effective scouting and good recruitment off the back of it. What we saw today suggests that that aspect of his (and the wider team's) work in this area is pretty good. You can't get carried away on the back of one performance and one win - but I came away really liking a lot of what I had seen and looking forward to more of the same on Tuesday. As a fan, you can't ask for much more.

if want more detail, the Podcast team will let you have a peek at competitive rates. 😎

Agree with much of that although, like other, am not a Spearing fan and with a strong back three I still think we can gamble with another creative midfielder at home.
