He is a winner and got to be better than Silverwood, Giles and Thorpe. Needs a selection team and other coaches to support him. And a focus from the ECB on test cricket and county cricket to restore proper technique and preparation

Bit of name dropping I play golf with his dad, he told him he would coach Englabd one day and would be very happy if it happened. Got lots of friends in England from his time playing county cricket.

There was a definite sea change in England performances when Rodney Marsh joined ed to coaching team so it a yes to Langer from me

He would be good to provide a short sharp shock over an 18 month period. To get rid of an over comfortable environment.

For example, the idea that a player in professional international sport is allowed to object to a skin fold test on the grounds that he is being fat shamed is beyond ridiculous.

Or the idea that in your net bowling practice you consistently bowl no balls (Stokes,Robinson) and then are surprised when you take a wicket in a test it’s reviewed and found to be a no ball. That one was pointed out by George Dobell.

Well after the recent peformances anything will be an improvement

Maybe a bit of old school is what's needed? If the current crop don't want it, Langer will bring through ones that do.

Rocks, I understand the sentiment but I have to say I would welcome this appointment, as long as he's given the chance to completely stir things up and make wholesale changes.

Let's face it, we didn't mind Troy Cooley getting the likes of Harmison to not only believe he could bowl in line with the stumps not just the square in general, but that he was going to bowl really hostile and fast consistently. Well I certainly didn't anyway.

If Langer can identify and coach new English batsmen and/or get the existing ones he wants to keep learning how to value their wicket a bit more, then he'll do me.
