KARL ROBINSON

FLATBACKFOR

Does anyone think we should consider this guy, I think Oxford are the best footballing side we've seen at Bloomfield so far this season.

I think he was a youth player for us at one time. With the right backing could he be successful ?

It’s a yes from me, good manager that knows the division well, has cut his teeth and is doing a good job at Oxford. however I am not sure he would jump ship to come to Bloomers.

He wouldn't come here, in my opinion, they are going well, and are above us. You can always ask the question I suppose but I can't see it.

I'll be surprised if Oxford don't finish in the playoffs so I very much doubt KR would want to pass up on the possibility of getting in the Championship with them and as with Ryan Lowe and Evo he will be under contract anyway.
Nathan Jones is available so less problematical.
Ideally we could do with sorting this out now but it needs to be right for Simon Sadler this time.
Maybe he could do worse than leave Dunn in temporary charge until the end of the season and appoint someone in the summer.

Karl Robinson was given dogs abuse when he managed Charlton at Wimbledon by Dons fans,so maybe not for the purists on here who put MKD before their own club.
He did however get the players to pay respects at the SJA statue when they played at BR,and seems a very decent and respectable bloke.

Didn't know that Plumbs, fair play to the guy that's nice to hear he took his team to pay respect to sir Jimmy👍

The initial game against Charlton that season was postponed for some reason, Charlton's players came out to the memorial before the Blackpool squad did that day to pay their respects. Karl Robinson sounds like a top bloke, doubt we'll get him.

I think Monday is the key day, if Jones is coming you would imagine it would be Monday after having had the weekend to ponder on it. If nothing is announced on Monday it might be he is not coming and we move onto other targets.

I agree he 'probably' wont leave Oxford ......but.....money talks. If you offer him enough money, a long enough contract , a very strong/big budget...bigger than Oxford and most teams in lg1, total control of the football side and the cliched 'project' would he be tempted?

His wife runs a very successful business here in Milton Keynes and he still lives here from when he was the Dons manager. He would be a great choice but family talks and he won’t want to move from here.

I recall him being a whinging scouser when interviewed....

And doesnt have as good a managerial record as Jones..

He wasn't over impressed with the way Karl sold him the club " You'll be under no pressure, keep us in this league and if another club comes in for you I'll drive you there personally". That was the sum of our ambition, I think he'd find things a little different under Simon Sadler, definitely for the better.
