KESHI

I think Keshi, like a lot of players yesterday, had good spells and bad spells, but he was unreal in the second half. He’s just so good at drawing players in and creating space.

So far, he’s surprised me the most.

He has been excellent this season and has really stepped up, all down to his attitude, willingness to improve and the coaching he gets. Some players also suit higher up the league ladder and he looks like one of those players. We have a really great squad but just lack that creative midfielder and someone like Simms who has pace and power and can score for fun. Hopefully we will sort both those things in January.

Absolutely fantastic yesterday as he was against Fulham...very unlucky not to start v Udders and he must be winning some of his doubters round now. He can be a massive player for us this season as he will only get better and better following surgery. Hopefully he can add some goals to his peformance.
I wasn’t his biggest fan last season, he’s winning me round for sure !

I'm going to disagree partly and I'm saying this as another poster who's been impressed with him so far this season.
First half yesterday his passing was very careless to say the least. There was no lack of effort or committent but just nothing was coming off for him.
Of course he wasn't on his own first half and he did improve consideribly in the 2nd half and looked one of our strongest players at the end of the match.
So overall well done Keshi.

What are you disagreeing with ? My opinion he’s winning me around ? How do you know how I feel ?

I had my doubts that he would be good enough in this league but he has looked very good at times. He needs to be more consistent, we hopefully will have a decent championship player.

He was bang-average in the first half on Saturday, but he, like all of them, improved in the second period. I personally don’t think that he gets head up quickly enough when in possession.

Must have won a few more round yesterday and is really coming into his own. I thought he was man of the match and the backheel to create the goal would be shown every five minutes if it were in the Premier league. Keshi is like a new signing now that he is injury free and he could be our player of the season if he keeps it going and adds some goals (which he is capable of)

Agree with that however I feel he could offer more in a slightly more central role. Just feel being right footed he sometimes runs into corners on the left of a 442 then has to turn & play the ball back to often. Results prove its working but think he's better in a 3 behind a lone strike.

Bizarre that he didn’t start v Huddersfield. He’ll be even better when Jerry is back in the team, I think they work well together.

I thought he could replace TJJ and Yates could play the role cutting in from the left as they did at Swindon but Keshi is playing so well at the moment that I would just like him to keep doing what hes doing. Barnsley had done their homework and often had 2 and even 3 men on Keshi and Bowler. Keshi just skipped past his markers time after time in the first half and although he understandably tired second half he was still a major threat.

Agree with all of that, he is a really exciting prospect running at defenders, not sure why some posters have a downer on him as he has a great attitude and a fair bit of skill.

I like Keshi. I think he is an intelligent player. He works tirelessly and obviously has the character that Critchley likes. If one thing lets him down it's his passing for me. I think he has good vision and can read the game and other peoples movement. I just think he struggles making that decisive pass at times.

Overall though he has made the step up very well. Much better than I thought he would. I'll admit that I thought he would be a bit part player for us this year. I'm delighted that he is proving me wrong.

Keep improving Keshi 👍🏻

Got a bit of GTF about him, personally think he's wasted on the left of midfield and don't think he has the pace to play there, I'd like to see him in the number 10 role behind the striker.
I said something similar about him last year and a few on here laughed at it. The last few games he has started to show some real quality. I think he would be better through the middle as well but he was effective yesterday. He has that explosive burst of pace over ten yards or so that gtf had

It appears he had a niggling injury even when he played last season. Since his operation he has come back both injury free and much fitter and really shown his potential

I do think he is a bit wasted on the left but this system seems to be working so I wouldn't mess around. We are pretty short on natural left wingers at the moment so who would replace him? I'm hoping Dale can do a good job once he's fit. Also, Keshi and Garbutt seem to have a pretty good understanding and know where each other are going to move so we should make the most of that.

How does a lad who was a div 2 player just over a year ago suddenly look one of the better players in the Championship?

Same for Marv. Non league 2 years ago and there are teams who’ve paid fortunes in transfer and wages for their centre backs who don’t look as good.

Makes you think that snobbery often stops those lower league players making it at a higher level? Jamie Vardy was a prime example. There was no way Arsenal would have signed him from Fleetwood.

So bang average when he skinned three defenders and laid on a tap in for Shayne, either side of keeper it's 1-0, or when that sublime backheel gave the same player the chance of a one on one to score. Both first half, not too shabby was it?
