Could be an interesting signing for us on loan, promising young striker.

He maybe one who is good for the future but what we need now is an experienced ..not injured striker...who is already up and running and ready to do the business for us now....that would do for starters.

Those cost money though so unless Sadler is prepared to open his wallet then forget the striker who’s up and running and can scores goals.

And you seem to delight in the fact ...if it is a fact . We do very little of the speculate to accumulate at Blackpool .
Various clubs have had to throw youth in and the learning curve is vastly quicker than an occasional spectators view from the bench
Delight? What a truly odd statement, as a Blackpool fan who wants more than anything for the team to be successful you think I delight in not thinking someone is good enough?? Particularly a fellow Blackpool fan.

There is no delight to be taken, realism on the other hand and unfortunately as the old saying goes, there's no room for sentiment.

The facts are that young Brad has done nothing out on loan (at poor levels of non league) to suggest he's ready to play in L1, he scores goals in U21 and youth football, but as yet hasn't done so in men's football, therefore it's realistic and fair to say he's not ready to be leading the line at a level he's never realistically got close to being successful at.

As I've said in the past imo he needs to go out to the conference (he simply won't attract anyone higher Imo), like Lankshear has, and like in the past Apter has, and he needs to score goals and excel on that loan, in the same as way as Rob Apter did at Scunthorpe, if he can do that then I'd take great DELIGHT in holding my hands up, and championing his case to be in The first team, much as I've done in several occasions with Tue aforementioned Rob Apter.
Hopefully this clears up any confusion regarding Delight or any other emotion I allegedly have displayed towards him 👍

Politely and reasonably argued.
It was probably your slightly demeaning description of Brad Holmes as everyone's favourite child which stuck in my craw .
Just a phrase I know but a bit patronising for one of our own players

I should probably have said everyone's favourite young player.

I just think Brad gets an easier ride and people seem more inclined to champion him, because he's a local lad and him and his family are pool fans.........all I'm saying is regardless of any of that ye has to be good enough, the jury is still very much out whether that's the case.

I've said previously, it's a big year for Brad, one which could be pivotal in his whole career but certainly in his Blackpool career 👍

People tend to forget that Brad Holmes started or played in every pre season game under Appleton last year and was really really poor

Etete's a good player I think and it's a sensible suggestion. I saw him play for Cheltenham in League 1 and he was my man of the match by some distance. Obviously there is some aerial power there but his touch and mobility were excellent for someone so tall. The issue would be he maybe doesn't get in the box enough to play upfront alone and he has a body type where you get the feeling that he could get injured at any time. Would work better in a front 2 like the 3-5-2 Cheltenham were playing. I tend to think that we need experience and more proven quality though.

Sounds like we’ve already got our ‘could be one for the future’ in Kouassi.

In the meantime, Rhodes can show Lavery and Beesley a thing or too and hopefully start notching.
Once the North get roaring on Saturday it could be time for a rare goal or even a win for us.

We have promising young strikers but they play in the development squad then seem to disappear from the face of the earth, give them a chance for fups sake can’t be any worse than we already have
there are so many posts on this subject.

Do people think the club professionals who coach and see them every day don't know what they're doing?
Ive seen Brad Holmes on several occasions and he is nowhere near good enough, if he was clubs would be sniffing round him hoping they can take him to the next level.......theyre not........thats why he's not in the first team.
I understand the argument especially when we seem keen to allow other clubs young players to improve themselves at our club but in the case of last season, Fiorini is a full international, Patino is a youth and u18 international and Morgan had played championship football for WBA before being snapped up by city...there is a vast difference.

Never mind Brad Holmes....if Critchley continues in the same vein hes doing now....we may need Sherlock Holmes to figure out whats going on....take into account his stint at QPR....That would be 3 wins in 19 matches...what you think of that Mr Watson !
