Knobbers finances

Spending £143 on *wages alone* for every £100 that comes into the club

Technically insolvent but supported by the owner

Outstanding loans from Trevor Hemmings now £43m

Only a matter of time before one of these Championship clubs brings its owner down with it. Don’t see it being Preston ... at least not under current management

Should stop loans and just let owners gift money all this FFP is garbage,
if Hemmings wants to give away 48 million to the nobbers then so be it.
That's some spike in staff wages and shows how much it costs to be in the Championship were most clubs are loosing money.

Frightening how much wages have now increased in the Championship What will they do when that support is withdrawn as it inevitably will be ?
But is this the norm or are Preston being silly with wages?

Only asking as if we get there in the next few seasons will we find ourselves in a similar situation?

The Nobbers have been in the Championship for a good while. Why the spike now?

Looking at those figures it just makes it all the more frustrating that we managed to blow the opportunity of a lifetime for the sake of a few million in the January window.

Not many Clubs can afford to run at those levels and if that’s what it takes to compete at the top end of the Championship I can’t see us getting there again.

This has to be my favourite subject over the last 10+ years.....Because without Uncle Trev....PNE IS BANKRUPT.

The sale of Hughil in 2018 for £8m put the Knobbers in the black to the tune of just £2.5m for the first time in 7 or 8 years
The massive outlay this year can be put down to the training ground and (i believe) the 40+ players on their books.
Uncle Trev is spending millions on this training site....because he also got planning permission for 150+ homes and industrial area that will make 'HIM' £10m

The knobbers are crapping themselves as many of the big players are up for their contract renewal at the end of this season or at least by the end of the next. Players like Rudd (Goalie) will have teams queuing up for their services, so PNE have to offer him a fairly decent contract with top end Championship wages just to keep him there...as they will have to do with lots of others by Christmas 2020.

Over the next 2 seasons, the wage bill will just go up and up.....When they fail to go up this season (after failing to get a play off position 😁)........BOOM...😱💩💩💩
They don't even make enough to keep the doors open at Sleepdale without Trev
Figures show Trev has poured in over £55m to PNE......and what did he get.....🤔

If they fail to get promotion this season, I can see Neil getting poached by a Championship club who will offer him a decent budget. (Forest, Derby, Stoke or Cardiff) and then PNE really are in the 💩.........🤗👍🤣😁

Big club my ass....

They're going well this season and promotion is definitely not out of the question, but nor is a bit of a wobble and if they miss out this year they'll be in big trouble next season. Can't wait, lol!!!

They’ve been lucky enough to have a kind man willing to bankroll them and at least provide quality over the years.

We’ve had a rapist and his delinquent son siphon off whatever spare cash they can lay their hands on.

One thing PNE have been particularly good at over the years, is tying their best players into long contracts, as early as possible.

How much is Hemmings actually worth and is it a fortune that increases with investments/business or remains the same. According to his Wiki page he was worth £850m in 2017 - just wondering if he has money to burn (and if his children would be as enthusiastic about the Nobbers). Funny they don't see him in the same way Rovers fans see Walker.

He has run a tight-ish ship for years. Probably gambling big now to see if he can get his money back and see his team at least once in the Premier before popping his clogs.

unlucky!

Apparently it is his son, who is the big knobber, so the son may invest more, once Uncle Trev pops his clogs. PKEs problem is that their crowds don't increase when the team is doing well in the league. Maybe they have got used to being in the top half of the championship, or simply cant afford to go to games.

Maybe they are going for it - one promotion wipes out all TH’s loans

Pool did it on peanuts, but the crucial decision in the PL season was not to take Shay Given on Loan, following the injury to Matt Gilks. He was on £60k per week, and an offer to pay £20k of it might have swung it. The fate Football Clubs hinges on such decisions. The chance was gone, and a few months later, so we’re Pool. Another winner from Karly.

Totally agree with the Given comments - Richard Kingson should have a statue erected in his honour ... at Blackburn 🙁

TH and his son will continue to bank roll them for years and to be fair it is no different to what we see at our own club at this moment in time. I would hate to see the sums that Simon has put in over the last year just to get us to a certain standard.

Sounds like what happened at Bolton. Owner creating a larger and larger loan debt. Eventually, that loan will become a problem that the family will have to write off because nobody would be able to buy such a club with that sized debt.
