I know he's no spring chicken - he'll turn 34 in September - but could he be a good short term and relatively cheap acquisition for next season ?

Spare me all the pub league gags but he was still performing in the SPL at the end of last season and I think he would certainly give us an option, even if that was just coming of the bench to change things in games when we needed to change things.

Nowhere near good enough. Suspect character as well.
 
He’s related to a former work colleague and a friend of mine but no thank you.....he is definitely not want we need or want.
 
Couldn’t cut it at Sunderland in league one. He’s similar to Madine in a lot of ways, but older.

I think many of our fans have an Oyston-era hangover of expectations. We will set our sights higher in my opinion.

That's OK lads, I didn't think he would be for everybody but I did think he was worthy of more consideration than the initial reactions indicate.

I certainly feel it is a more reasonable option than say Josh King who was put up here the other day and is only looking for £100k per week.

I also appreciate that we shouldn't be signing everybody because they are cheaper than Josh King.

That's fair enough Stu.

I was looking at him as a cheap signing who would provide options rather than as a marquee/galactico signing but it does appear that I'm on my own.

I'm not his agent by the way lads.
