LANCASHIRE AGREES TO ENTER TIER 3

Apparently not - non-food bars must close however gyms, barbers and beauticians can remain open

Not seen start date yet

Apparently we secured an extra £30m in support against the £12m originally on offer

I suppose if you are here before then it's essential travel to then go home at the end of your stay
It also says no overnight stays in T3 areas, so in theory tomorrow morning they should all go home.

We know that will not happen and with the pubs being closed the old firm fans will have their can of Tennants on the prom before kicking the shit out of each other.

That's the gyms shutting again!
The report I read is that gyms won't be included in the "Lancashire" lockdown.
Can someone please define "Lancashire" for these purposes?
My postal address is Bury, Lancs but for lockdown I live in Greater Manchester.

You're Greater Manchester, you're only Lancs as an anachronism of the postal service, same as Manchester.

It's only overnight stays in private accommodation.

"To support the local authority during this period, the government will be providing a support package worth £12m. The government will also establish a dedicated, ministerial-led taskforce with additional funding to work with Lancashire leaders to support local businesses to recover over the coming six months".

Did Pfeffel say he wanted to level up the north or level it?

Has Blackpool Unitary Authority really agreed to Tier 3 with the Half Term Break coming up? Close non food serving pubs/clubs will visitors want or be able to travel to a Tier 3 location? And for how much, a share of £42M and for how long, Bolton has been in a high state for months! I just don’t understand how we aren’t standing up for ourselves alongside GM and Merseyside for greater Government support.

Turn the lights out folks and prepare to go into hibernation till next year!

Because its all about getting their hands on the lump of money. They do not give a shit about the residents.

By all accounts the Lancashire Councils were forced to all agree to the Tier 3 implementation because harsher restrictions were used to threaten those still holding out on it, Preston being the last to give in. Peer pressure being used because if they didn’t all agree then no-one would get anything and even tighter restrictions imposed.

So to the amazement of Liverpool Council leaders who then found out that there were “extras” offered to Lancs - gyms, leisure facilities etc. - that were NOT offered to them. So it seems that even the new multi Tier system has different rules for different places and not the consistent approach that was promised.

So it looks like Blackpool and Blackburn with Darwen were treated as part of Lancashire and coerced with the other Lancs Councils to bow to Government pressure to accept the new Tier level.

Anger levels are growing day by day you can tell. Goodness knows what will happen when the whole of England is at Tier 3 yet the Government will claim its all Local and not National level - and thus avoid re-introduction of Furlough etc.

This country will be the last in the world to eliminate Covid. You can see the attitude of people splattered across the Internet whenever rules are applied to try to rid this killer virus. It's all about how the individual is going to be temporarily unable to live their normal way of life. There's a total lack of focus on why this needs to be done and how doing something now, can quicken the eradication of this pandemic. I can see at least 5 more big waves over the next 2 years hitting the UK whilst China still pats down just 15 new cases a day.

Surely Liverpool needs to be offered the same concessions

It would be madness to have different rules depending who has negotiated hardest

Gyms not being affected in Lancashire

That will give that scouse gym owner a bit more ammunition

The Caravan has been in many adventures since lockdown was lifted TAM👍. We shall continue to journey far and wide as I know I haven’t got the COVID cos I have no symptoms 😉
We’ve just got back from Keswick after 3 days up there in our Caravan - we had booked another long weekend in November but wondering if the C&CC might start to look at home postcodes and destination postcodes for future bookings and start cancelling them - any thoughts Blood?

Well said, it’s clear hardly anyone is taking this seriously

Bottle, I dont know is the short answer. We ain’t away again until November to Knaresborough so I hope it’s crystal clear by then as I don’t want to traipse there and get refused on the Door as it were mate 👍

Cheers Blood - pretty much self contained in the van and people give you plenty of space so I reckon its low risk covid wise but not getting the door slammed in your face wise!

Seen your comment and answered it....you are just stating YOUR opinion. I am purely stating actual facts
Yes it’s guidance, as it was during the first lockdown. Follow the guidance and it may not become law.

Follow the guidance and you may not kill somebody:

It's not often I agree with you, but you're spot on with that post. I know loads of people who just aren't following the rules or guidelines. Then they're the first to moan about the government for imposing restrictions. One particular individual who is moaning like fcuk about the pubs being closed. But he hosts big gatherings of people at his flat and has done since the pandemic started in March.
So he's potentially contributing to spreading the virus, but then can't understand why the government has brought in restrictions to stop the spread.
Stupid is an understatement.
