Our defence has been excellent, we're prone to the odd mistake or lapse of concentration though which is to be expected, especially at league one level........ luckily when called upon Maxwell has been outstanding for the majority of the season.

It must give the defence huge confidence having him behind them and via versa, he's hardly had to make 10+ saves per game. What impresses me as much as anything is his concentration levels, to be relatively quiet for large periods it takes great concentration to be switched on when required.

I think the addition of Stewart and Dougall, along with Ward moving to his favoured position has been one of the main reasons we concede so few. They are exceptional in League 1.

Just to add, in that same period - 3 goals conceded in 9 away games, with 7 clean sheets in those 9. Amazing record.

The really outstanding thing is how many defensive partnerships and shapes we've had over that time.

It is a remarkable record, though it does feel like a lot of those 11 came late in the game and lost us points, i.e. after 85 mins. Maybe just my imagination.

As I've nothing better to do I've just checked out whether dave1772s imagination is running away with him( to quote The Temptations).
It was only the games v Crewe,Wimbledon and Plymouth where goals after 85 mins turned 3 points into 1.All of these games were in March so are becoming a distant and now ,thankfully,an almost irrelevant memory!

I agree Bollieboy, I keep pinching myself about how miserly our defence has become, even 2007 to 2010 we used to concede more. Long may the miserly tangerine defence continue.UTMP.
