Last time Bolton won at BR ...

1976 game, 23,000 1-0 win home win always sticks in my memory. Billy Ronson shot that squirmed under Seamus McDonagh was a great game, great atmosphere between two good teams. Can't find anything on Youtube!

Our win against the Massive Southend was a mere four games ago! How dare they besmirch our proud record! 😲

I was there in the south paddock, thought it was nearer 26,000, I may have my tangerine tinted specks on tho... Got a bit tasty in the paddock that day, suffice to say, I hid at the back...

I was on the Kop for both the 76 and 77 games....the atmosphere was feisty and I remember looking back up the terrace and seeing all manner of items being thrown from one side to the other. The ball squirming over the line to give us the win seemed to happen in slow motion; I was right down at the front and the roar was like nothing I’d heard before.

As for 77, I recall my dad leaving with a few mins left, in disgust, and them scoring on the breakaway. They had 5 or 6 thousand at least.

The SVT 1-1 draw in 1989 was 100 times worse...

The Gazette used to regularly forecast 30000 gates then it would be disappointing when it was 'only' 27000 or so. Different times.

Yes the gate could have more like 26,000. I was in the South too and the full South Paddock surge......the youth of today don't know what a feisty game it was between Wanky Wanderers and the Pool.

I was at both games and Bolton easily brought between 8-9,000 to each. The kop looked very busy on both sides, I have a photo my grandfather took from the South. Ill try and post it.

I remember the Pool fans in the south singing... "Thank you very much Jim Mcdonagh, thank you very much thank you very, very, very much" over and over again after he spilt Billy Ronsons shot from the edge of the penalty area.

Does anyone remember away fans arriving by train at South Station and having a police escort to the ground? I think it was done after Chelsea fans rampaged through the town centre after arriving at the North.

I remember around 100 Blackburn lads heading down St Heliers Road back to Blackpool South after a night match in the early 80s.
Blackpool were waiting at the bottom on Waterloo Road💀 Not sure what the result was but a friend of mine who lived down that end said it went off big!
