As much as I would like to see that be the policy, the NHS does not turn people away for illness caused at their own hands.
Obesity, alcoholism, drug abuse, sexual diseases etc are all treated without question with tax payers money

I know it won't happen, but its all about individual rights and nothing about wider responsibility

Individual rights always trump vague notions of wider responsibility because the most heinous shit in history almost always goes down "for the greater good". Them's the breaks, no matter how much you wish it were different.
