….. and thus avoid the cost of living crisis.

Yes for about the 10th year running, despite the increased labour costs, raw materials costs, energy costs, inflation, etc etc., you can still buy 2 tubs of quality street and celebrations for the princely price of £7

£7 for two!

We’re told by supermarket bosses that the price for goods is going up and those costs have to be passed on. Bread and milk and butter and cheese all other essentials going up. Yet they’re all too willing and able to sell, promote and push down our throats the non-essential junk food at the same knock down prices they’ve had for a decade or more.

If Cadbury’s and the bosses of Morrison’s and the like can conspire to keep pushing this health ruining garbage to the gullible and all too willing gluttonous public then I’m sure they could use their innovative ways to keep the cost of healthy products low.

It’s corrupt and it’s disgusting and it only serves to highlight the hypocrisy of these organisations when it comes to the correlation of their bottom line and the bottom size of the British.

There's a lot less in the same size box. A con.

If nothing else, this cost of living crisis might make people think about insulation. It's almost as if the protestors were onto something.

Just checked and despite costing the same price, the amount of chocolates in a tin of quality street has halved from 1.2kg to 650g since 2009. I don't think the OP could have picked a worse example. Where else are you getting literally half as much for the same price?

So what weight were they last year and the year before, prior to the cost of living crisis? Check that and get back to me.😉

Bulk bought in ages ago, just unsold from last year.

So as an employee of Cadbury`s many moons ago I would just confirm what can be gleaned from a couple of posts above Cadbury`s don`t actually make Quality street........ Nestle do!!!!!🙄

I have the utmost respect for you as a poster Malced, I really do.
But living without alcohol and never having done drugs I say, please leave my chocolate alone ffs ! And everyone else sake.
Dark chocolate has profound benefits in moderate doses. So stick that in your pipe and don’t smoke it.

I totally agree with you on dark chocolate. But the tubs I mentioned are not dark chocolate and actually are mostly tofffe and fudge and other very sugary delights with a coating of milk chocolate.
It’s not chocolate I’m bothered about, but rather the proliferation and promotion of these Christmas tubs available at the end of august.

As it’s a Sunday I’ll permit you to have a one centimetre square of dark chocolate as long as it’s 90% cocoa. 😃

The only thing I've got from this thread is that I really fancy some chocolate now.

I can sell you a tub of last year’s quality street for £5. There’s a whole 50 g extra and they’re vintage.
