Liverpool v Man City

City have done badly at Anfield for a while but a win today, with Liverpool's defensive issues.

Feels like a training match rather than a title decider. No crowd is really noticeable in this one so far .

Of course it wasn't enough to make him fall over but he clearly pulled him back and impeded him so it's always gonna be a penalty. It really should have been a red card as well as there was no intention to tackle him.

Great stuff because it puts Manchester's only PL club even further away from their Salford neighbours. Not sure where Liverpool go from here because they need some real spending behind the scenes, with talk of Salah and few others looking for a move.

Their Trust of course did a huge protest a few years ago against price rises which I thought was worthy of universal endorsement, but all its done is limit their ability to maintain a sustained challenge. If you want the best sides then fans have to be prepared to get rinsed it would appear.

Give over. They've just won the CL and PL on those ticket prices , it has nothing to do with it. The signings in the summer weren't good enough apart from Jotta who got injured. Just not their season.

Got a mention on Sky! Last time Liverpool lost 3 on the bounce at home was 1963! Beaten by Forest ,Pool and West Ham !

The CL is a bit of a nonsense -Liverpool qualified without even winning a title.

I cant / wouldnt want to take anything from them for last season but read my post-sustained- which is something they and say Leicester are struggling to do. ManUre slipped down for a while but have bounced back and its only a matter of time before Chelsea and Arsenal do the same.

The point is that in order to maintain a longer challenge at the top it needs huge amounts of money, and that hasnt changed even through the effects of Covid etc

They’ve had 3 amazing seasons. This season with all their injuries a top 4 finish would be seen as a result inside the club.

Fodens pace has gone through the roof, I wondered why and Gary Neville said a mate of his is giving him sprint training. Anyone know Gary? If so give him a call, we could do with his mate here.

Foden really needs to start for England in the euros, and none of this he's too young, he isn't ready, it's too soon rubbish that you often see about our youngsters. A genuinely world class creative player for England.

The last time Liverpool lost three consecutive League games at home was the 1963/64 season, Blackpool were one of the three teams to beat them, winning 2-1 at Anfield with goals from McPhee & Charnley. Liverpool ended up as Champions that season.
Man United won the title that season, not Liverpool.
