Long term project

There's obviously a lot of disappointment around right now, and that's totally understandable. I think much of that is frustration that we all viewed the Oystons as the people holding the club back, and therefore as soon as they left, we thought we'd be flying. But I don't think there's any need to panic that this view will not be proven, it will given time.

Some may say that we would be flying without Grayson, but I'm not so sure. I think the players we were left with were only good enough for about where we are now, and there needed to be wholesale changes to the squad. This is not an endorsement of the manager, I wasn't a fan at all of him coming back. But the encouraging thing for me is that we're making those changes to the squad - and we're not hanging about.

Managers come and go, but the two key things to watch if you're looking for long term success is the backing of the manager by the chairman in the transfer market, and infrastructure developments off the pitch. I think both are extremely positive right now and that demonstrates that success in this league is only a matter of time. Forget who the current manager is, it's not the important thing to focus on if you're looking at the bigger picture.

Of course we're going to discuss performances and tactics etc. But I try and look for the positives. This is going to take time, and I think it's unlikely we'll go up under Grayson, but go up we will in the near future if our new owner keeps acting the way he has so far. How good is it to be able to say that?!

The new forum is great btw!
