Looking forward to the Cods v Hull game tonight

Thought the Cods looked good in midfield. Hull were poor hardly tested the Cods keeper who looked suspect. Will be interesting when we play the Cods hope we are settled then.

They may well both finish above Blackpool at the end of the season but I don't think either will gain automatic promotion.
I am personally hoping that Blackpool gain a playoff spot where they could play either of these sides.
One thing I am certain of is that Blackpool will get stronger as the season goes on.
We cant get weaker....
Have u seen the table lately

Fleetwood were very good, but never judge a team on one performance - like many AVFTT posterd did when we played Oxford at home last season, and were adamant Oxford would walk the league.

Assume you mean the Swindon game?
Personally, I don't feel I can accurately judge/assess us on any performances yet (other than Swindon perhaps) because we have allowed teams to park the bus after being gifted the lead early on, certainly away from home.

I really want to see us in a match where either we (a) take the lead early and the opposition have to attack rather than parking the bus and playing us on the break, or (b) we keep a clean sheet and the outcome of the game depends on our/their attacking/defending skills.

I suppose I just want to watch a game where we don't gift the opposition the initiative - then we might be able to judge
A bit disappointing to say this after 4 league games, but hey that's the way it is.

Looking forward to tomorrow with new CB's (if selected)

Don't really care about Fleetwood, other than as a L1 rival, but I didn't watch their match tonight.

46 games like every season.
If it depresses you that much I'd give up pal.
Only 10 teams will get promoted this season 10 will get relegated.
Blackpool will not get relegated.

Seriously mate you are a good poster and I always enjoy reading you posts but you need to just be a little bit more realistic.

We have been dire. Yes pretty football (at times) but have been utterly toothless going forward and comical at the back.

Whilst there is clearly a lot of talent the players have consistently made terrible decisions in the final third. I don't actually worry about the defence. That will be sured up now. I worry about us going forward.

No early crosses ever go into the box (clearly something coached) as we try to play it into the goal like an old Arsene Wenger team. We simply don't have the level of skill to pull this off and it's painfully ineffective and frustrating as hell to watch.

Without CJ we'd barely have a goal. Most of us have watched dross for 40 years bar the 2007 - 2011 period. During that dross there was always a spark or something positive to see. I'm not seeing it. At all. We are rudderless on and off the pitch and are desperate for a leader.

I swear to you I will take all on the chin on here if I'm wrong. But I'm just not seeing this working.

Zero chance of Ballard playing, he's with Northern Ireland, and very little chance of Gretarsson playing, he has barely trained with us and it would be a bit wild to throw him in today, in a new country. Husband suspended, so I think we might be down to Thorniley alongside Ekpiteta. Thorniley got 90 minutes at Accrington.

Sorry for late reply Mac but I'd had a long day yesterday and hit the sack quite early.

1st, thank you for your kind words of me being a good poster, I usually post what I feel and if it gets a reaction or brings on good debate so be it 👍

Onto the seasiders.

In the 4 league matches played so far I can safely say that Pool have been fortunate, unlucky and dreadful

Plymouth, we played them off the park and as you rightly say being toothless up front cost us at least a draw, we should have won but it doesn't always pan out like that.
Swindon, fortunate in the fact that they could have gone ahead early but didn't. Pool then grew stronger and were the better team for most of the match, would have been disappointed if we'd lost that game.
Gillingham, the least said about that game the better. It looked like Critchley had just cobbled together 11 blokes off the street. They were awful.
Lincoln, in a game that had draw written all over it it was down to 10 minutes of madness at the end. After taking an undeserved lead, the game should have been seen out. For some reason it wasn't and the points were snatched away late on.

So we lay 3rd bottom of league one with the results we've achieved but, in my opinion, with the bounce of the ball and better decisions being made we could quite easily have at least 7 points.

Watching last nights match, yeh Fleetwood looked good because Hull (who were joint top btw) played awful, I honestly don't think that Blackpool are too far away from either of those teams when they start to gel and if other don't think that way then that is their prerogative.

Let's just hope that Pool can get something from today's game, something to build upon👍

There is a lot to sort out, I don't disagree, but you are way over the top in my opinion. We have looked much more bereft at various times over the last 40 years. Dire? Really? Rudderless? Seeing nothing at all?

I'm not sure what's motivating you to take this attitude, to be honest.

Let’s hope the fact that Fleetwood are above us grates with our team, manager & owner & we start making the right decisions in front of goal & defence, in fact all over the park. FFS all you have to do is put a ball in the net. Shoot when that’s the best option or lay it off for someone in a better position, I’m hoping this will start to happen as our players actually become a team.

It shouldn't grate on the team that Fleetwood are above us in the league in the same way it shouldn't grate on us that Ipswich are above us.
The thing that should grate is the fact that we are 3rd bottom in this league and it needs to be rectified.
I do agree that this will happen when the players start to gel as a team.
I keep saying that Critchley is looking at the liverpool blueprint of improvement season on season and Blackpool's improvement this season would be 12th or above.
Obviously that's not good enough for some.

That won't be good enough for the owner never mind the fans

I take your point, but it would inspire me to lead my team forward if a local rival was doing better than us. I HATE losing. Perhaps it’s our lack of a leader on the pitch.

You really don't see what is motivating me? Do you not watch the games?

Want to make that £50?
Well Nick I wish I'd taken you up on it🤣🤣🤣
The only thing I got wrong that night was thinking Hull wouldn't get auto promotion.
As it stands we're 12 pts off Hull (way ahead? Possibly)
As for the Cods, well, they're just not very good are they.
And Blackpool? They pretty much did as I predicted, got stronger, strengthened up at the back and started to find the net.
