Looks like Robinson staying at Oxford

It feels like we've been used by Robinson to get more from Oxford, as I find it difficult to believe that we didn't think there was interest before going for him. Also, who would turn down the opportunity to speak to another potential employer to find out how much they were offering? You just wouldn't. If he hasn't even asked Oxford to allow him to find out what we're offering, he's stupid imo. For all he knows we could be offering five times what he's on now (yeah I know we won't be, but he won't know that until he's spoken to us).

So this all just smacks of a total set up. It's not the first time Robinson hasn't wanted to even talk to us, and if thats the case then fine. I only want people at the club who genuinely want to be here. It's at fantastic opportunity for somebody, make no mistake about that. We're in a very fortunate position of really not needing to rush. We will be in league 1 regardless next season.

Conflicting reports coming out here. Saw one inferring that Robinson hadn't been told of Blackpool interest till after last night's game. Also he wasn't happy with recent transfer window and questioned the clubs ambition. Don't think he can be ruled yet.

I would welcome him, but just hope it isn't a plan to get what he wants from Oxford, which it looks more likely. but you never know.

Sick to back teeth of all this just fuckin advertise the job and stop trying to poach other clubs managers.
Send your CV in pick the best to interview and then choose one simple.
Their are literally 100's of out of work coaches/managers who are dying to get back into work who will have a plan/vision/commitment/player recruitment etc and if EVO or any other ex player applies good for them.

Pochettino is free. 😂

Who knows what agents are up to. Sneaky fcukefs have to get the best for their player or manager and no doubt get a arrangement fee and a %of any dosh. I'd be happy with Thomson as manager. Would he leave nobbers for a number one job? Maybe.

So Oxford have not given BFC permission to speak to Robinson.
So if we are genuinely still interested what do we do next?

Tap him up same as every other team seems to in these sort of situations, presumably.
If he wants to speak to us, it'll happen, officially or at a motorway services, unofficially.

Robinson has to have the go ahead from the Oxford chairman before he can legitimately talk to Blackpool. As reported Oxford refused permission so the only option to KR if he does want to pursue it is to resign and then hold talks. My gut feeling is that KR (or his agent or both) are chancers and are trying to get either a better deal from Oxford plus more say in player recruitment. I also remember KR turning down Blackpool some years ago as he didn't want to uproot his family from down South.

Or his Agent is talking to Mansford sorting out contract details and if satisfactory Robinson resigns. He won’t resign unless the terms are right

As said on here before....Nobody makes a move for a manager if they haven't already had some form of discussions with agents/friends/confidants of Robinson who will give them the nod or at least say...'he's available & wants to talk'

If Robinson has used this situation to get some concessions with the Oxford board and had no intentions of moving, we should let the media know so he looks like a right cottonheaded ninnymuggins...or a Edited - offensive language

According to Nixon on Twitter, Robinson likes being linked with other jobs.

Is there anything anywhere that stipulates an agent of a player/manager isn't allowed to speak to another club on their behalf?

I'm sure discussions have taken place where a club has intimated the kind of package available to someone should they be willing to leave their current club.....

Hold on, aren’t WE the one’s supposedly trying to tempt someone else’s Manager away from them, I fail to see how anyone is using us when we appear to have initiated the conversation. Personally I don’t agree with approaching another club about their manager, unless of course they had thrown their hat in the ring and shown an interest in us.

Jeez 53 I admire your loyalty but that’s stretching it - it’s not Robbo”s issue, it’s our”s!

I would imagine that Mr Mansford has given the sales package to Mr Robinson’s agent, who in turn would look over the details and make Mr Mansford aware that his client may or may not be interested in speaking to BFC, assuming this is the case, BFC have obviously sought permission to speak to KR, now it is up to OUFC to either give him permission to speak or make him not want to speak anyone else with an ambition proof plan . Only an assumption of course !

Yes we are the ones trying to get someone's manager, but the point is I'd be amazed if we were doing that without having been shown some "encouragement" first. If that's the case and he then rejects us or doesn't even talk to us, then that's absolutely using us.

It's all speculation really, no one knows. The only thing I do know is that the Blackpool job is an opportunity to get involved in a project from the beginning, build something up (including academy and training infrastructure), and get excellent backing from the board in the transfer market. Without wishing to sound arrogant about it, people like Robinson and Jones will end up regretting a missed opportunity.

Anyone who heard Robinsons post match interview last night knows he used our approach to strengthen his own position down there.
If he hadn't been interested or wasn't looking for reassurance over financial backing by the Oxford board, he could have given a resounding response of no when asked about being linked with us.
Yet he did nothing of the sort.

Managers don't want projects. They want instant impact, the project can follow.

I'm not sure that's true, but either way I still say they are missing an opportunity. Blackpool is now a club that is ripe for adding another promotion to their CVs. I'm not convinced Oxford will do it, or their board are committed to it, as much as ours is.
