Madine coming off.

I listened to the game and there was a suggestion that Madine didn’t want to be subbed and there were words with MA when he left the field of play ………

Is this nonsense or does anyone know otherwise ?

Watched on IPTV, he definitely wasn't happy and yes he did have words. Think it was perhaps a case that Madine got a knock and Appleton didn't want to risk him, whereas Madine felt capable of playing on.

He wasn't happy he'd just got a knock and rather than let him run it off like you'd normally do MA subbed him.
He made he feelings known to to the coaching staff it was like he was being made the fall guy for how poor we where when basically he was getting crumbs from the rest of the team.

Madine went down a second time when Stoke were attacking- he was playing games hoping the ref stopped the game, Appleton didn't read that and subbed him. F'all wrong with the Mad One. Then, coming off he gestured to say why am I sitting on the bench.

Note, at no time did a physio attend to him on the pitch.

Bizarre from MA.

I've got a lot of time for Gaz but if he thought today's ref was going to take pity he can't have been paying attention. He let their players leave something on us time after time, I only wish we'd done the same but our midfield was powderpuff. What really pissed me off was that with Gaz off the pitch we had three forwards on the pitch not one of whom appeared capable of heading a football.

That's how I read it, and GM's BL coming off I think backed that up.

Watch now, he'll be out for 2 years with a broken toenail.

We should have known how the ref was going to play it when they got a free kick for Connolly being kicked in the head while heading the ball.

The second was when he stopped play for their player going down, indicating a head injury. The physio came on and sprayed his knee.

I was gutted when I heard he went off. Then it got worse. We move on.....
In his interview Appleton said they couldn't risk having an injured player on when they were so much under pressure. Also that it was a chance to try something different given how things were going. Pretty clear he was massively unimpressed with the first half effort all round - as was I.

Well that's utter bollocks.
He got a knock on our previous attack, got up for the corner with no treatment then when Stoke attacked he sat down.
He's a premadonna who has conned people into thinking he's great.

He's shit.

Not much physicality this week. Enjoyed his pissing about in the sea though. Hopefully he gets to do some more physicality next week.

Players tend to drop down so the physio can come on. Which may explain his outburst when one didn’t come on to check him over
