Margaret Ferrier to face no Police action

They have passed it to Police Scotland, lets hope they have some balls, they certainly have public and Government support to do something

Absolute pathetic. If some on here had got their way DC would of been hung drawn and quartered. More bias.

Why haven't her constituents started a petition to have her de-selected and a by-election called?

It would be pretty easy to defend your case should the time require it...
“Shall I use Politicians, advisors, mass gatherings, sports men (particularly footballers) or celebrities as my reason why I didn’t follow the rules and visited my elderly father your honour??
I just assumed you didn’t have to as all of the above were ‘good to go’”.

You must have some brass neck to cling onto your job as an MP after what she did. She will be a millstone around the SNP's neck for the foreseeable future. On the other hand, I wouldn't want to make her angry, she looks like the woman from I Spit on Your Grave.

A licensee in Bradford had just been fined £1k for not displaying a QR Code at his premises door, yet this woman gets away with what she did. It stinks.

The source is I can start a petition about anything. Source that I cant do that mr multi user name?

You're confusing the non-statutory parliamentary petitions with the provisions of the recall of MP's act.

What are my other ID's BTW, I'm sure they'd like to laugh at you as well.

That's not very productive is it?

Just trying to clarify the situation.

You can indeed start a petition about anything you like, the legal effect of this is zero no matter how many signatures you get.

To recall an MP is a separate procedure and the petition is subject to certain conditions (imposed by the act) that must first be confirmed by the Speaker.

If you don't meet the conditions, no matter how many signatures you get, it's irrelevant.

So you didnt understand this then?
"No. You can start a petition whenever you want. It might not work, but you can start one."

Apologies, I need to quote you to say I have replied.

Funny how the Left Wing lynch mob who were all over the Cummings thread, when he broke the rules, are strangely quiet on this one.

Both Cummings and Ferrier have clearly played fast and loose with the rules - whether this warrants Police action is up to the them but I am fairly sure if a member of Joe public had acted in a similar way they would be up on a charge.

The behaviour of these two individuals just reinforces the belief that some politicians think they are above the law and further undermines public confidence and trust in our political classes.

I don't think it was just the 'lefty lynch mob' who wanted Cummings to quit . . it was the whole country.

The reason there was so much animosity about it was the refusal of the PM or any of the cabinet to condemn his actions. The SNP however totally condemned the actions of Ferrier and suspended her immediately.

They should both have quit IMO - it is the honorable thing to do and would actually save lives (this is particularily true in the case of Cummings).
However it does seem that our current set of politicians do not take accountability very seriously and of course there is no example of moral leadership set by the PM.

The honourable thing to do seemed to disappear in the Blair era.
