Mask wearing % today

50/50 in Sainsburys on Monday with only about 25% of staff.
Two pubs yesterday not a mask in site and none of the staff.
So a waste of time them wearing them to just walk in?
I agree what's the point if your in a pub or eating venue wearing a mask this is where the mask wearing argument falls on it's backside.

Asda again today. It was a change from Monday, down to about 50 / 50, with the non wearers looked mainly in the under 30 age.

Monday - went to the dentist (very strict on mask wearing) and the gym (no masks but same as before).

Tuesday - went to daughter 2 to mow lawn so doesn’t count.

Wednesday - went to the pictures; mask wearing encouraged and followed as far as I could tell. Followed by a restaurant where it was left up to us. Everyone who walked in wore a mask which was quickly discarded. Just like the week before.

Thursday - went to the gym again (see above) plus medical centre for a health check (masked apart from the test)

Friday - went to the vets. Very strict. Not allowed in with pet; only to pay at the end.

In short, in many places the same. In the others people trying to find their way without being all Rockontommy confrontational about it.

The British Way I suppose.

Who would have thought it ?

Craig David on AVFTT.

I’m working over Preston way (I know, can’t be helped). Popped out at lunchtime to get a snack and went into a small Tescos.

Not a single customer or member of staff was wearing a mask, not one

What have you observed since yesterday? factual answers only

Im not interested in a debate on whether we should wear them or not, in what circumstances or calling other posters nasty names etc......

Just factually what have you observed re mask wearing % and where at?
Honestly...in Morrisons (Cleveleys), shops on Victoria Rd.....majority wearing masks.

It's been about 50/50 in my area, the local Sainsburys have taken down the screens. Only the chemist is restricting numbers in the shop.

Local shops been relaxed for past 6 months near me. They glad of the money and I've never been challenged in any. Mask will not stop covid so why bother?

No masks at all in my local corner shop for the past few weeks
50% masked in the supermarket today
80% on public transport (about 25% amongst the staff)
still the odd loon wearing one outside

Nicely thought out knock this Blood.
fWIW, where I live there’s a decent take up of mask wearing in supermarkets; 85-90% I’d say. But that was Waitrose. I’m sure Aldi or Lidl will be much lower.

What are you trying to say Straighters ?

The bigger the bank balance, the bigger the drama queen ? 😀

Went in Booths (Poulton) on Wed. Most people were wearing masks, including us.
We will wear them when in confined spaces, i.e. shops/stores etc.
Going to Horncastle, Lincs on Thursday, 2 nights.
Golden Wedding celebration.
As most will be elderly, and will be a big 'DO', we'll 'play it by ear'.
Don't say it, 'You wear masks over your face, not ears'. 😉

Sell out at York races yesterday. No one, literally no one including staff wearing a mask inside or out.

Wiz

Great to hear that people are getting on with their lives and not before time.

I'm not sure regarding the crowd though, no reason to doubt that it was a sell out but York holds near on 40k if not more so I'm imagining some form of restrictions re capacity were in place.

I don't know what the actual crowd was and apologies if it was a sell out with unlimited capacity.

I was in Norfolk this week and it was like people had totally ignored government relaxation of the rules so almost everyone seemed to have their mask on indoors where there were crowds.

Seemed like a different mentality to the North West which I expect shows up in case rates.

60,000 there. Races followed by McFly in the evening. We left after the last race.

Are they doing a big box deal on Doritos for you this season, and switching to rechargeable batteries for your remote too?

Did you read the OP?
Went to Asda this morning, definitely reduced numbers wearing masks and as you say mainly younger people. This morning I’d put it at less than 50%.

In Cleveleys with the family this afternoon, the women in our party in and out of clothes shops, virtually no one wearing masks.

So the Government’s scaremongering works in some areas but not others.
I was in Birmingham yesterday afternoon/ evening and it was absolutely rammed not a mask in site even on the train going on. We know some pubs where we thought people wouldn’t go and we were correct. So had a great day and nice meal in a restaurant which still seemed to observe social distancing 👍

100 per cent Peter Beardsley face mask wearing in Preston. Women there raving about how the masks improve their looks.

The lag on figures is normally 2 weeks isn’t it?
If the science is to be followed we should see a massive spike in numbers by end of next week following mask ditching and restrictions being removed?

If not, there something wrong in the advice given
